Enjoyed at Amherst Brewing Company.

A - Poured into a standard pint glass a crystal clear dark copper with some thin head that faded to leave light wisps and a halo.

S - Aromas of light floral hops and peppercorns before wham! smokey chipotle chili peppers. Actually smells quite spicy.

T - Taste is more of the nose. Light floral hops faint pine bitterness and peppercorns until Mr chipotle comes to town. Smokey, earthy, lightly spicy chipotle peppers are front and center up front but yield to a lightly bitter piney finish. Nice.

M - Mouthfeel is standard for the style, alcohol is hidden nicely.

O - Overall this was a fun beer. The base beer was improved by the peppercorns though the chipotle is awfully assertive. Still a darn fine beer that leans more towards a chili beer note than an ipa.
