I sampled this beer on a visit after a show at the Mullins Center.
The beer is cold and served in a 10 oz mug.
Clear gold hue with thin bleached white head only a surface layer upon its arrival. Aroma is mild with toffee and grainy malt and some herbal hops in the background.
First sip reveals a light body and fine spacious carbonation. Very easy to drink. Flavor is sweet malt up front and rolls to some husky grain notes and finishes with just a hint of herbal hops. This would be a perfect session beer.

Had on tap at the ABC. Its appearance was a light amber-like color with a nice thin head and some eventual lacing. Slight malts and hops were sensed as main aromas, but they felt overall weak enough to be missed. The taste was sweet but it lacked any particular punch or flavor dimensions that I could notice. Decent medium-light carbonation which helped it at least be refreshing. Overall, this was a average beverage.

this beer impressed me the most of the three i had on tap here.

dark amber color, surprisingly so for an am. lager. very clean, crisp smell. like fresh air, or those candles that purport such ideas. floral, fruity taste kicked up with some nuttiness and a dry aftertaste. unique! almost has a leathery aftertaste as well. complex for sure. interesting, still thinking about it and wish i had some now.

Enjoyed at the brewpub. Presented in a pint glass.

Off-white 1/4" head on top of this medium amber/light copper brew. Head fled the scene quickly, and lacing was minimal at best. Aroma was minimal as well, with fleeting glances of malt. The taste was of ample malt, with a fruity essence I can't quite put my finger on. Mouthfeel was reasonable, but drinkability was where this one excelled. Could be an all-day drinker, no problem. Well, except for the falling down after a bunch thing....

Pours medium amber with half a finger of not very frothy head that dissipates quickly. A little bit of lacing, but not much. Smell was a bit subdued I felt. Wasn't a whole lot going on in the nose. A hint of malts, perhaps. Taste was pretty decent. Malts with wheat, almost sweet bready taste that gradually dissipates into a rather drawn out bitter aftertaste. I did like the slight fruitiness, but I could do with a more rounded ending. Even still, a decent light to medium bodied beer.

I sampled this Steam lager at the brewpub in July 2002. The website says it is brewed once a year in the Spring. Sampled at the brewpub July 2003, and the review revised.

This steam lager poured a clear, golden amber color with good, white foam that clung to the glass. The smell was malty with a hint of floral hops. The taste was malt and biscuit with some hops, but was a bit thin. The mouthfeel was crisp, and initially sharp on the tongue with medium body with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. This was a decent steam beer.
