We haven't brewed this beer since October 2010. In it's new reincarnation, Dorothy will become a regular ancestral release: A pale, very hoppy American Farmstead ale. Dry hopped in the Foudres and bottle conditioned.

Bottled 8/2014, about a month ago.
A- Pours a slightly cloudy bright orange with about a 2-3 finger white frothy head that has great retention, lively carbonation with nice retention.
S- Earthy, hoppy, and lightly tart saison yeast with notes of earth, herbs, cloves, light floral citrus hops, slight doughy presence, typical HF water profile. Fairly complex and nice balance with the hops and farmhouse qualitites.
T- Lightly tart lemons, oranges, HF saison yeast, floral qualities, long finish with a definite earthiness, oranges, light cloves, and a bit of balanced bitterness. Pretty nice for the style, fairly flavorful, nice subtle complexities that balance together nicely.
M- Light, refreshing, soft, lightly fizzy carbonation, very drinkable, holds the 7% well.
O- This is the second time I've had Dorothy, the first time I wasn't sure what to think of it but the second time it's been really growing on me. It has the typical HF saison qualities but adds a unique twist with the hoppiness which definitely differentiates it from the rest of the lineup. While this isn't my favorite HF beer it's definitely a nice addition. It might be interesting to see how this holds up with a bit of time on it however I would definitely recommend drinking it fresh.

Bottle: Poured a light hazy blonde color ale with a huge giant pure white foamy head with great retention and excellent lacing. Aroma of floral hay notes with light dry notes and light funky notes. Taste is also a nice mix of floral hay notes with some dry hoppy notes and light funky notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nice subtle flavours with great balance overall.
