on tap poured into a Hill Farmstead taster.

A~ glowing orange with a really big head and a ton of lacing.

S~ very sweet up front, followed by grassy earthy notes and finally the amazing tropical fruits. guava, mango, lemon, and lime

T~ lots of honey here and a little black pepper. otherwise pretty much follows the nose. dank!

M~ a little dry from the hops of course but still smooth and refreshing. well carbonated as well.

O~ dannnnnnnkkkkk! and different! hmm...! not overly hoppy which is a nice change from most newer IPA's. i love the honey sweetness as well. the black pepper thing was a little strange but maybe it was just me? or! saison yeast!? ahh i don't know but i'm excited to try it again!

Excursions 2 is magnificent. Aroma, taste, feel. Even the lacing on the glass. We visited the Hill Farmstead Brewery today. Everything on the tasting menu was superb. Yesterday, we had a growler of Fiddlehead IPA, an excellent IPA. However, all the Hill Farmstead brews surpassed the Fiddlehead.

Split with Goblinmunkey7, growler filled about 4 hours ago

Consumed 1/17/15

A: Lightly hazy, pours a deep honey with a medium sized, bright white head, leaves some spots of lacing

S: Nice citrus and a lot of honey - interesting hop profile, Amarillo and Citra are fairly apparent, and some aromas I cannot place - ripe orange, grapefruit, citrus pith, some mango, cantaloupe, tropical aromas - lots of honey - nice malt profile, as always with Hill Farmstead, with some extremely clean, pale malts

T: Citrus, honey, oats, a solid breakfast - orange, grapefruit, citrus flesh, pith, and some tropical notes, mango, lemon, lime - lots of honey flavor - low level of sweetness, even with the honey - some pine, herbal notes, and light earthiness - clean overall

M: Medium body, smooth, nice carbonation, dry and uncharacteristically dirty, earthy

O: Number two!

This is quite perhaps my least favorite offering from Hill Farmstead. But that's not saying much. It's still very nice. The hop profile is a bit odd, but the honey is lovely.

On tap at Farmhouse.

Completely hazy body. Flavor is strong on grpaefruit with a bit of sweetness. Really captures the essence of that fruit while not bringing too much bitterness to the table. Very easy to drink.
