Dorothy is the first hill farmstead beer I haven't been truly enamored with. Good, but just doesn't quite know what it wants to be. Not quite a pale, not quite a farmhouse, and just doesn't quite satisfy my thirst for either. Still very good I just wished it leaned a little further to one side or the other on the range from pale to farmhouse.

Serving: 6 May 2015
Served: Bottle into snifter
Bottle had about 3mo aging on it.

Appearance: Pours a magnificent crystal clear golden yellow with a huge, endless two finger head. Lots of carbonation coming up from the bottom. Amazing.

Smell: Bright, citrus hoppiness and unquestionable funk from the yeast. A pinch of sweet maltiness to round it out.

Taste: My first Brett beer so I was a bit taken aback by the tartness. It wasn't, however, anything insane. I liked how the tartness worked with the malts to balance the sweeter malts with the almost lemon-like tartness. Unfortunately, I found the tartness totally overwhelmed the hop profile.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with high carbonation.

Overall: My first beer from VT, my first beer with Brett, and my first Hill Farmstead. A marvelous beer- but one I would need to get used to more first to truly appreciate.

Resiny, grassy, lightly sweet aroma with muddled citrus and mango.

Flavor is lightly funky and citrusy, with a bready malt backbone and wheat finish. There's light bitterness.
