Drank 3/31/21 out of a Hill Farmstead oversized wine glass.

Possibly a hint of mango left if I tried really hard to find it, but an outstanding lambic in all respects.

RBESG 2016 in Barcelona, Grand Tasting. Hazy pale golden colour. Lovely sourish farmhouse aroma. Sour lemony & brettanomyces flavour. A very fine beer.

This is very nice, but maybe doesnt live up to hype, Fairly tart though overall mellow with mild mango overtones and some decent Belgian flavors w/ a strong hope presence on the back. A very nice saison, but then again its hill farmstead, i preferred cd 17

Poured a beautiful golden color with a small white head. Aromas and flavors were incredibly complex and incredibly refreshing: wine-like barrel qualities, some light tartness, tropical fruits, and a good but not overwhelming fresh mango presence. Some complex Brett. Perfect mouthfeel. This is mind blowing good.

L: slightly hazy, pale, smr 6, white head non persistent
S: lot going on, mango, touch of lemon zest or type orange, kumquats
T: decadent sour, huge mango, overripe orange, big acid, lemon rind
F: super thin not boozy, light medium bodied, dangerous given the actual alcohol content, mango ripe orange finish

L: Looks great. Hazy bright straw.

S: Lemon, hay, some funk, clean and fruity. Mangoes are there but subtle.

T: It's great, but I just don't get the mangoes like I wanted. I love mangoes and I want more.

F: Awesome as any other HF saison. Light, creamy and effervescent.

O: Fantastic HF saison, but I had higher expectations for how high this was trading. Mangoes just weren't present enough to blow me away.

From 750ml at a bottle share, along with a variety of other SP and HF goodies.
Looks mango-ish, I guess. Hazy and yellow.
Didn't get much mango at first on the nose. Tons of HF funk. Reminded me of CD10, or old HF shelfy saisons. Found more mango in the aroma as it warmed, but wasn't nearly the tropical juice bomb I'd expected.
Taste was quite tart, sour, no sweetness, but some fun mango papery flavor (in a good way) that lingered on the tongue long after every swallow.
Overall enjoyable, and definitely more of a complex and tart beer than expected, less fun fruity mango, more straight HF yeasty funk. What mango is there will probably only drop out over time, so I'd probably recommend drinking sooner rather than later, if you have one.

750ml bottle, served in a Hill Farmstead stemmed glass.

Pours a bright hazy golden yellow body, one finger white head with great retention, a bit of lacing. Smells of underripe mangoes, citrus, tropical fruit, minerals, a bit of a tart acetic bite, touch of wheat, oak, mild funk and pepper. Already smells complex with a good dose of mango. Flavour, however, brings out even more mango; this is where the money is. Mangoes for days, citrus, acetic bite (mild-moderate tartness), wheat, minerals, mild cereal, saison yeast properties, peppery. But the altogether complex flavour is dominated by the mango. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, good carbonation, delicious and difficult to not drink in one gulp. A perfectly executed mouthfeel. This really pulled off the mango adjunct and I absolutely would love to have more.

Smells like mango nectar and hay. Such depth to the body of the beer. Field grass, wildflowers, and barnyard funk. The mango is primarily on the nose and the finish. Not sweet but refreshing mango flavor and depth with hints of bitterness.

750 mL bottle. Hazy orange. Smells of citrus. Light acidity. White wine. Tropical fruits. And then mango. Tastes more distinctly of mango. Tart lemon and mango. Hint of vegetal flavor. Lots of white wine in the finish. Medium light. This is outstanding.

Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow color ale with a white foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of sour notes with hints of mango. Taste is also mostly dominated by strong sour notes with quite a bit of acidity and hints of mango. Body is about average with good carbonation. I find that a lot of the complexity gets overshadowed by the level of acidity in this beer.

Picked this beer up at the brewery on release day. Shared with JLindros. The person who added this beer doesn't know what he's talking about and merely added this beer for the sake of it as it is not 11% ABV.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice crystal clear golden hue with a good one finger head that fades to leave a thin halo and light wisps.

S - Aromas of honey, flowers, light wine as well. Really nice mango flesh and faint peel. Very, very fragrant.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, great honey and floral notes, awesome wine as well. The mango is not overpowering, however, it is still incredibly powerful. Great fruit notes while still being able to taste the rest of the saison.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated. Crisp.

O - Overall this beer was rather tasty, great mango notes. Really great saison notes coupled with mangos. Delicious.

Thanks to rudzud for this.

Decent fizzy bubble head fades semi quickly, light lacing, crystal clear honey golden color.

Nose starts with mild funk, honey malt, bright sweet malty as sweet honey, with bright tropical juicy mango, sweet mango candy, maybe even pineapple like.

Taste mild sweet, big tropical fruit, mostly a generic sweet tropical fruit but also big mango, and pineapple candy, fresh pineapple, fresh mango, little candied fruit, touch musty dank fruit. Sticky tart citrus tropical fruit lingering, sticky flemmy notes.

Mouth is med bod, nice carb, nice acidity.

Overall pretty nice, great mango and somehow pineapple, very nice beer.

Wow. The beer is the perfect level of sour. The beer starts with oak and grapes in perfect balance. Then comes in an amazing mango/tropical flavor. The balance on this beer was phenomenal.

Bottle. Pours a lighter orange. Small, fluffed head. Aroma is musty and woody. The mango is rather potent and wholly natural. None of that gross fake mango shit here. Slightly sweet smelling. A bit earthy. Fruity tang. Funk. While the smell was very nice, the flavor was stunning. Huge tangy, tart-yet-ripe mango flavor. The mango is delicious and genuine. What an absurd amount of mango flavor. Beyond the fruit, I get solid barrel character, mustiness, earthiness, funk and tartness. This is pretty delicious! I did not know the backstory of the beer and was just sort of blindly whisked away by its flavor. Medium bodied. Textured mouthfeel. And Hill Farmstead blows me away for the Nth time. This was one that I didn't have any preconceived notions or expectations about. I loved this beer.

Pour is pale golden in color with a small amount of foamy white head. Nose has a bit of tropical fruit, notes of acidity in the aroma, moderate mineral and spice to it. Flavor is a bit washed out, lots of fruitiness to it, the acidity is fairly high, maybe a hint of acetic as well, fairly sour, carb is a little messy on a fuller body.

With the exception of the color, I wasn't too impressed with this beer. I was sort of expecting to be blown away but there just wasn't a ton going on. There was also a little too much yeast and maybe vinegar in the flavor. With that being said, it had some nice mineral qualities and the mango flavor was pleasant and subtle, especially in the aftertaste. Beautiful color as well.

Pours a light yellow to orange color with a cloudy look with about a 1 inch head. Smells of lemons and some fruit notes but only faintly. Nice sour start with a citrus mango finish and some definite oak character. Medium mouthfeel. Another excellent saison from Hill Farmstead.

This one had a nice Mango waft. Overall, the quality you would expect from the CD series, but a little less impressive than previous variants. The flavor is a touch thin and watery.

The aroma is quite tart, lactic, along with some pillowy malts and a hay funk.

The flavor follows with soft hints of sour mango and guava, creamy mouthfeel, but also an attack of sharp tartness, hints of vinegary, a hay funk.

Poured from a 750mL bottle into a Hill Farmstead stemmed glass. Purchased from the brewery a couple weeks ago. Bottled 8/12/15.

Pours a cloudy orange body with a 2 finger white head that reduces fairly quickly to leave spotty lacing and a ring of retention.

Lots of funk and fruit on the nose, citrus and tart fruit skins, pepper and mango definitely comes through as well as some oak and white wine, grapes.

On the tongue.. upfront I get immediate tartness, lots of tart fruit, mango, white wine, grapes, funk, peppery saison yeast, oak, follow through is more mango and possibly banana. The finish is very dry, crisp, refreshing, medium high carbonation. Overall very flavorful and complex.

I really enjoyed this variant of Civil Disobedience. Nice tart saison qualities with a subtle mango taste. Balanced and complex.
