This one pours a slightly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like sour lemon, lemon rind, wheat, grain, some candied fruit type flavor, and grassy funk.

I wouldn’t have assumed that using actual sour candy in a Hill Farmstead beer would actually work, but this one really does. It’s pleasantly sour, with a funky sweetness, lots of grain, lemon peel/lemon rind, and some herbal grassy funk.

This is lighter bodied, and pretty drinkable, with a manageable acidity.

I really enjoyed this one – it held up way better than a weird little sour candy farmhouse ale from 8 years ago should have lasted.

Only reason I bought it was because I drove 380 miles to get to HF for the first time. It was there, limited to 2 per person, so I got two. Didn't know a thing about it other than I was likely to be good if it was HF. I was not disappointed in the least and I'm glad I got it. I liked the sour "ish" taste, the carbonation and the overall feel in my mouth and then the taste as it went down. I would absolutely buy this again. Wonderful

L - pours a lazy hazy off yellow. Light and fleeting, not quite orange juice, more... tangerine juice? Can't really see through it. Interesting bottle cap on this one. Usually, when you first break the seal, you can hear that PSSST, but not this time. Slowly worked it open around the edges and nothing. Is there any carbonation in this beer? Then finally, BAM, the whole cap launches off and as I retrieve it to see what was up, the beer starts foaming over. In my mouth it goes, then rational thought takes over and the bottle opening transitions to the glass. Crisis averted. Neat little plastic suctiony o-ring type thing. Is this the new way to seal beer?

S - classic farmhouse aroma. Tart, astringent funk. I guess some mild candy sweetness, but it's more like a warhead. Sweet n sour. Farmhouse grain and woods in the summer.

T - huh, not as sour as both the name and the aroma suggests! Reminds me of sour candy when you're 10% through it. The manufactured souring is fading and the sweet candy creeping in. But both of these flavors are subdued, likely due to the low alcohol content. It is insanely refreshing though. Bright and vibrant, this is a fantastic summer beer and was clearly inspired by an early evening, moderately humid (but not sticky disgusting humid), cool, comfortable summer night.

F - I was expecting stupid amounts of carbonation after the incident with the bottle cap in the "Look" section, but it's actually quite balanced and pleasant. Very full and expanding, but doesn't choke you out with foam at all. Light and summery, but with that classic prickly saison bite. Masterfully done and very enjoyable.

O - pretty great beer, but doesn't quite deliver on the oak and sour candy that was promised. It's there, but I might not know it if I wasn't looking for it. Maybe subtlety was the intent. This series of beers seems to be more on the mild side with mild flavors.
