Florence (1915-1967) was our grandfather’s sister, and Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this Belgian inspired Wheat ale is crafted from American malted barley, Organic Vermont wheat, European and American hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Soft, cloudy, and fresh, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Florence. Florence becomes....Flora(Barrel aged Wheat Saison) is our Wheat Saison (Florence), brewed with Butterworks Farm Organic Vermont Winter Wheat, aged for 8 to 14 months in French Oak wine barrels and complimented by the terroir of our resident microflora... Becomes... Flora aged on blueberries, black currants and raspberries: A few barrels of Flora were selected, and that beer was aged further on a blend of fresh, hand-picked berries from Greensboro and East Hardwick.

Bottle: Poured a reddish color ale with a medium size foamy head with limited retention and some light lacing. Aroma of fresh raspberries and blueberries is quite nice with light tart notes also noticeable. Taste is also a mix of fresh raspberries and blueberries with some light funky notes with a tart finish. Body is pretty full for style with good carbonation and no real acidity is discernible. Well made fruited sour with great drinkability and some good level of complexity.

A: Glowing, vibrant colors, with a grape highlighted mainstay to the reddish hue and ruby glow. A minimal head with durable retention, and siphoned lace
S: Aroma is quite animated with the jammed funk essentials, and a gracing vinous class. The fruited counterparts meld and interchange their dominance with hints of skunked barnyard berries, citrus fruited skins, damp to evolving lush plums, ripened seeds, and fusty oaked cracked peppercorns
T: Synchronization plays onto the palate, as the light, soft delicacy continues. The aeration cultivates winter wheat berries, knot wooded barley, wild quailed gin, spiced fielded greens, moist lemon, and dry leaf up-comings. More softening with sweet, cassis yogurt that deviously extracts mint and vanilla
M: Effervescent, bright, and lively carbonated to the tempered body, which settles in the intervals
O: A vintage coordination that evolved without a vinegary, sweet assault: funk, jam, and fruited treacly were in check

Strong currants dominate nose and flavor and are unpleasant. Worse, this has huge amounts of THP that dominate the feel and linger. Gross.

This one pours a light pinkish/reddish color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like a light and clean citrusy funk, with more blueberry than the others, grape, wine, and oak.
This is definitely one of the higher levels fruited Floras. The berries and fruit meld well together, and primarily just appears as blueberry. There's some great citrusy funk, some tart wine flavors, and the perfect amount of acidity.
This is light bodied, pretty soft, and very drinkable.
This 2016 bottle has aged very well. I hope they make this one again.
