Notes: Saison brewed with oats, lime zest, lime juice and salt. Brewed and bottled at Hill Farmstead for Good Life Provisions LLC.

Hugs feel great. But when you find yourself behind the wheel of a 4,000lb truck rumbling over the gravel, hugging each person you pass just isn't in the cards. So you raise your finger off the wheel just enough to acknowledge your neighbor. The Farm Wave is a completely legitmate and wholly appreciated acknowledgement. It really is the least you can do to recognize that fleeting moment you share with another person. It is simple, but meaningful.

Farmer Wave exists as its own sort of acknowledgement. The brewing brought together friends separated by the evolution of life. The process was a reason to reunite and the product is a gesture from one friend to another. There are simple ways we can share our worlds with each other.
Farmer Wave is one of those ways.

Poured from a 1 pint 9.4 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, "bottled on" date "2017 03 29".

APPEARANCE: pours a beautiful, hazy straw color with two-fingers white head, excellent retention, the head slowly dissipated until a thin, unbroken layer of small bubbles remained, there is a significant amount of lacing on the glass, highly carbonated.

SMELL: farmhouse funk, bread and lime.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet lime and then farmhouse funk and bread.

PALATE: medium body and highly carbonated.

OVERALL: I love the Saison style but the farmhouse funk and lime was too dominant so this beer just did not work for me, I would not seek this one out again as there are other options I prefer.

750ml bottle poured into a Tired Hands Teku.

A~ soft glowing yellow with a bubbly head and a good amount of lacing.

S~ smells like Brother Soigne with more barnyard brett and lots of lime zest.

T~ really opens up here and is nothing like Brother Soigne haha! crazy amount of lime up front which the salt quickly takes away leading into amazing brett and black pepper with some lingering lime on the back end.

M~ soft with nice carb and super refreshing!

O~ really amazing brew! i'm not a huge fan of salt in general but it really worked well in this aspect. pretty incredible the way this changes on your pallet. i can't wait to drink this pool side! perfect summer beer!

L- Tons of head in the beginning but settles down nicely and has a beautiful hazy orange glow.

S- Has the signature HF funk with accents of citrus. Citrus smells natural, not at all artificial.

T- Great level of funk and citrus here. Funky, tart, yeasty, salty, supremely balanced.

F- Nice drinkability if a touch over carbonated.

O- This was a really pleasant surprise. Fantastic beer.

On draft at Zwanze Day. Served in a stemmed glass. Light mildly cloudy yellow body, one finger white head, good retention and lacing. Smells of lime, spice, wheat, light acidity, minerality, touch of citrus. Reminds me a lot of Brother Soigne, maybe a bit less citrusy. Flavour is similar; hefty on the lime, minerals, grainy wheat and malt, mild lactic acidity. It seems more of a margarita-type gose than anything else, but in a good way. Still, part of it is probably branding per Hill Farmstead. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied, crisp and dry, refreshing and very easy to drink.

L: Cloudy yellow body, good head retention.
S: Traditional hay and funk on the nose, citrus notes coming through as well.
T: Lots of Lime and salt mixed in w/ that traditional HF farmhouse funk. Really nice.
F: Has good body, I'm assuming the oats assisted in this.
O: This beer is worth seeking out for HF aficionados. As other reviewers have noted the salt and lime hint at margarita, but the funk pulls it back. Will be interested to see how this evolves after a year or two.

beautiful glowing hazed golden yellow color with bright white head atop, some nice lacing. there is an abundance of lime flavor on display here, lime pith, key lime pie yoghurt, perfectly quenching and tart, mineral water some nice bready sweetness in there to balance it out. very fluffy texture overall but a zippy flavor and pleasant carbonation. this is a perfect beer!!

Bottle: Poured a cloudy yellow color ale with a large foamy head. Aroma of Brett notes with some lime and light salty notes is original and enticing. Taste of Brett notes with some lime and salty undertone sis well balanced and refreshing. Body is about average with good carbonation. Super refreshing with perfect balance of salty notes.

750ml bottle served at 52 degrees in a tulip. Bottled 2106 04 07 printed on the label. Pours an orange-gold hue with a slightly hazy clarity and a frothy, 1.5 inch bright white head that eventually settles into a soapy froth. Nose expresses bright lime notes. Taste follows nose with a hint of brine. Mouthfeel is light in body with a lively carbonation and a pleasant acidity that stimulates the salivary glands and leaves a residual burn at the back of the throat between quaffs. Overall, a decent brew ideal for the summer heat; however, not too much complexity here.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a HFP large goblet.
L - A bit of haze, gentle carbonation streams upward, fulfilling its purpose with a short life of a cap. Deep yellow, orange color sets a beautiful tone. The rings of lacing leaves evidence.
S - Distinct, sweet malt, lime, orange, white melon and a bit of sour notes, minerals, and a bit of funkiness, and salt water toffee. With a rise in temperature a botanical quality sneaks in, Hibiscus, Lavender.
T - Dragon fruit, ripe musk melon, lime, orange jam, English dry biscuit. The flavors roll through, the pop
of each element seems floated on a pillowed base. Hard to piece together, but entirely delightful.
M - Incredibly soft, from the oats ? Medium in body, the palate is so delicate, there is no hiding flaws with his back drop. Simply amazing feel from this offering. The more time spent with the offering the more impressive it is.
O - The complexity is inspiring. Lime, oats, the use of salt, but nowhere near traditional. This is simply a delightful offering to be sought out.
Cheers all

After almost 2.5 years this became much more acidic and the funk died down. I like it better but those are my general preference as well. Just a hint of like and that's the perfect amount.

A- Clear golden medium body pours from the 750ml into my snifter. Frothy one finger white cap. Decent head retention and a wide belt at the edges leaves small webs of lacing.

S- Fresh and bright limes like, intense off the top. Lime juice, zest and tartness all come to mind with full representation of that citrus. The Hill Farmstead bugs and base sours bring on some lactic acid and whole grains also come to mind beneath that.

T- Again massive limes atop the HF bug base and crusty wheat bread. The lactic acid bacteria is certainly noticeable and it helps marry the limes with the base beer.

MF- Light to medium body with high end fluffy carbonation. The texture is smooth with creamy and foamy feelings on the palate as those whole grains play their role. Tartness abound and in the finish for many moments after sipping.

The limes are showcased as well, if not better, than almost any beer I can think of brewed with that green citrus. Add to this the excellent Hill Farmstead quality in the base ferment and the grain bill and you have a winner.
