12 oz can (canned on 6/10/19, Drink by 7/22/19, opened and reviewed on 6/14/19) poured into a spiegelau glass.
A golden color with light orange hues and a hazy, frosted opaqueness. Creamy white foam settles in eventually, with good cover and small islands of clumpy foam. Intricate lacing all over the place!
The Nelson Sauvin hops from Australia bring forth aroma's of: white grape juice, tangerine, pineapple, dry summer grasses and Grandma's spice rack. The malt smells creamy, with golden wheat and assorted grains. Overall a very deep nose.
O.k...wow. the mouthfeel is out-a-sight! Sooo lush, so smooth and full feeling. Somehow achieving a light, golden and crisp body with super smooth edges. There is an incredible, dry and snappy bite in the finish that just has me stunned. Luxurious.
The complexity in the hop flavor is deep... practically bottomless. The unique, earthy, dried fruit and herbal nueances of this hop is on display in every imaginable way. Just when you think you've tasted every aspect, another one rolls in. Earthy...whole cone, wet and dry hopped style flavors roll in, and keep rolling. I love 2xIPA's that focus on one hop strain, so you get to know it's total vibe. Dry pineapple, white grapes, black pepper, herbs and spice mix and snappy citrus notes all sort of mingle and jangle around and on the palate. Team work!!
Double Nelson and the Hill Farmstead folks are setting the bar, very, very high.

On tap at Sabatinis in Exeter pa late this afternoon.
Splendid looking beer. Hazy pale amber body with a strong persistent white head. The lacing is truly spectacular, dripping rings. Soft tropical fruit aroma, very strong nelson hop taste, slightly warming, tempered bitterness. The hop profile gives a lasting finish. Another great beer from Hill Farmstead.

This beer is distinctive in it's hop character and taste. Bittersweet, almost earthy but extremely drinkable. It has a quality that most beers don't have, a sense of place. A truly unique beer and that is what makes it exceptional.

Sweet tropical hoppy, slightly malty, white wine grape, and a hint of Nelson-dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a malty-sweet, Nelson hoppy bitter finish. East coast vibes on this all-nelson dipa. The maltiness is present, but you still get some pretty good Nelson hop expression. Additionally, this feels nice and soft on the palate...fantastic!
