750ml growler, freshly filled, poured into a Hill Farmstead oversized wine glass. Enjoyed on 3.27.17, reviewed from Tasting Journal.

The beer pours a very pale golden color, hazy and cloudy with a foamy a soapy white head, good retention and lace. The aroma is okay, tropical fruit leads the way, pineapple and mango with citrus peel, doughy malt, a bit stale with some grassy green hop character that lingers with the distinct Hill Farmstead mineral water character. The flavors are decent, lightly fruity, strong citrus peel, a bit spicy and bitter with some stale pale dough, grassy and piney hops offer additional bitterness that kind of takes over this beer. The mouthfeel is nice, coating medium body with a gentle and soft carbonated texture that finishes dryly and bitterly.

Verdict: An okay Pale Ale from Hill Farmstead, it has all the signature hallmarks of a Hill Farmstead beer but this hop just doesn't seem to click for me. It's overly bitter, quite dry, very green and doesn't offer much diversity of flavor.

750ml growler poured into a Hill Farmstead taster.

A~ pale yellow, slight head and a little lacing.

S~ a lot of melon/cantaloupe right up front followed by slight white pepper and fruity/dank hops.

T~ follows the nose adding some fresh cut grass notes that really linger on the pallet.

M~ light, smooth and refreshing! nice carb as well.

O~ very nice spotlight on the hop! would definitely be better in the summer but hey thats not stopping me!

On tap at Parker Pie. Hazy pale orange. Smells of lemon hops. Something like a garlic backdrop. Tastes of lemon hops and a sweet candy flavor. A little herbal behind it. The herbal flavor extends into the bitterness and finish. Medium body. Nice pale ale. Solid because it’s HF but not because it’s a remarkable hop flavor.

On draft in a snifter at the Prohibition Pig in Waterbury, VT. Arrived a hazy yellow straw color with a finger of white soapy head that left sticky spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is grassy, peppery, tropical and hoppy. Flavor is the same with huge tropical burst on the finish. Mouthfeel is thin which is expected for a pale, slight bitter on the finish, but very juicy. I'm not familiar with this hop variety but it's really nice. I still haven't had a bad beer from HF.

Pours a slightly cloudy yellow-gold. A very slight head that dissipates quickly. Taste is clean and fresh. Notes of citrus, pineapple, flowers. Just enough bitterness. Decent.

notes of papaya, melon, lemon, grassy hops, very little bitterness. mouthfeel is a bit watery but still has some of that signature HF texture. Not my favorite offering from them, but definitely a beer worth trying featuring an interesting hop that ive never seen or tried before. nice!
