We have chosen two barrels of Birth of Tragedy as the base for this single origin coffee experiment. After aging for 20 months in select bourbon barrels, we conditioned this beer atop Akmel Nuri's Ethiopian coffee beans sourced and roasted by The Coffee Collective in Copenhagen, Denmark. These friends long ago changed our worldview as to what coffee could be. After months of bottle conditioning, the beer is ready for release.

roasty and rich coffee throughout that integrates beautifully with the base beer, also brings some sight fruity acidity, there is robust barrel sweetness throughout with flavors of vanilla, caramel, toffee, oak, very minimal booze but some hints of bourbon, some dark fruits and mellow spice dancing around there! luscious mouthfeel, excellent stuff.

375 mL bottle. Black with a nice khaki head. Smells of honey, coffee, sweet chocolate, and bourbon. Tastes very sweet. Coffee. Honey. Bourbon. Mostly sugar. Medium heavy. Boozy more than thick. It's much like regular Birth. Good, but way too sweet.
