375ml bottle, served onsite at Hill Farmstead Brewery. Served in a stemmed glass. Pours a dark black body, fairly standard stout appearance, half finger offwhite head, good retention, even a bit of bubbly lacing. Smell is chocolate fudge, mild roasted coffee, with a fair bit of roast and espresso. Rich milk chocolate with a side of coffee bean that doesn't overpower it, but rather plays a supporting role to it. There is a bit of whiskey heat, light oak and vanillin. Nice complexity, but ultimately the coffee drops out and there isn't too much behind it- but it makes the resulting stout a bit thinner than it should be- has a medium lighter body to it, good carbonation. Not tough to drink, but missing a slight bit of substance to it. Still, a very enjoyable stout to drink and altogether not a lot of things to nitpick here- it's all there, but somewhat muted.

Bottle purchased for onsite consumption at Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro Bend, VT.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a super small head, and no lacing.
This smells like chocolate-covered caramel, spicy coffee and roast, molasses, maple, bourbon, and oak.
This has such a rich and ridiculously decadent taste to it, with a masterful coffee integration. It's not entirely clear where the coffee ends and the rest of the beer begins, as you get sweet maple/molasses/brown sugar/caramel, with high quality dark chocolate, light fruitiness, and a killer spiciness both from the oak and the coffee. The bourbon character is subtle, sweet and silky.
This is medium bodied, with that killer rich silkiness in the mouthfeel from most HF stouts I've tried. It's a real treat to drink this one.
This is just too luxurious. I feel very lucky to have tried this one.
