375ml bottle, 2016 on the label, brewed June 2016, bottled February 2017, poured into a 12oz wine glass.

The beer pours a dark amber color, nice clarity with two fingers of off white head that has great retention and yields excellent swatches of lace. The aroma is nice, tart citrus, light funk, soft oak, a bit of vinous acidity, lightly floral with a touch of spice and soft grain. The flavors are good, soft amber grains, tart citrus peel, lightly funky with soft wine barrel acidity, lightly oaky and chewy with mild spice. The mouthfeel is good, hefty medium body that has a nice, crisp carbonated texture, coating with a tart finish.

Verdict: A very nice farmstead ale from Hill Farmstead and Tired Hands. Nicely balanced, expressive and bright with a nice tartness, really easy going and enjoyable.

This one pours a surprising light amber brown color, with a small bubbly head, and not much lacing.

This smells like toasted grain, red wine, oak, spicy funk, and sour orange.

This is pretty great. It almost feels like grisette like- with the emphasis on some toasty malt flavors against the backdrop of bucolic funk. There's some funky citrus rind here- orange and maybe a little grapefruit, some red wine, lots of oak, and a bit of a spicy character that I dig.

This is light bodied, crisp and clean, with a good level of carbonation and a high level of drinkability.

This is a good example of some of the weirder eccentrities of Tired Hands and the classic rustic elegance of Hill Farmstead. It should definitely be sought out.

Couldn’t wait more than a day to enjoy the bottle. Bronze, dark gold body with a moderate foamy head that fades after an aggressive pour.

Aroma is mouth watering - toasted grain, dried grass, green apple, oak and red wine vinaigrette. Tartness on full display but not overpowering. Oak and citrus laying underneath.

Lightly sweet, moderately tart, dry, spicy with a citrus kiss. As you would expect - heady mix of flavors come together expertly to create something super complex and hard to describe. Crisp, bright and zesty.

Bone dry on the palate; wine tannins and oaky dryness abound. Perfect carbonation pushes the liquid over the palate with the right force and speed. ABV (whatever it is) nowhere to be found. Opulent but not pretentious as it’s remarkably approachable.

For context, my buddy isn’t a fan of tart beer and he bowed out after a couple sips. I’ve had my teeth enamel melted from hyper-sour beers and this isn’t close. It’s a beauty that’s eminently drinkable but almost ethereal...the bottle is too damn small.

375 mL bottle. Pours a clear amber. Smells of wine barrel, light toasted malt, a bit of fruitiness, a bright citrus aroma. Tastes of bright citrus, lemon, orange, and wine barrel acidity. Faint toastiness. Oaky back end. Crisp and bright. The buckwheat is a nice attribute and it's a great wine barrel flavor.
