Notes / Commercial Description:
Florence (1915-1967) was our grandfather’s sister, and Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, we craft this wheat Farmstead® ale from American malted barley, organic Vermont wheat, European and American hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well.

This version of Florence was aged for many months in our puncheons—not quite Florence, not quite Flora, but magical all the same. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated.

Hazy, sunny yellow body with a thin white collar. Aromas of citrus, funk, oak, lemon, grass, floral notes. Assertively tart with pronounced citrus tones. A beer to make your cheeks pucker.

Holy shit! This is one I didn't expect to try but very glad I did. Bright carb and straw color. Amazing nose, lactic and tannins along with cracker malt. Flavor reminded me of pop rocks going off in my mouth. Great feel and superb finish. Lingering liberality and sweet tart candy. World class for sure.

Poured from a 25.4 oz bottle into a willie belcher glass.

Pours a hazy straw color with a finger of effervescent white head. The head quickly settles into a ring, leaving no lacing as it goes.

The aroma brings notes of tart lemon, citrusy hops, and bready yeast. Some slight funk and wood on the back.

The flavor is very tart, but also balanced and complex. Starts off with lemon and lime zest, green apple skin, white wine grapes, and grapefruit. Then comes a wave of doughy yeast, subtle wheat and cracked pepper. Finishes with flavors of green olives, oak chips and earthy hops.

The feel is on point. Light bodied with exceptional carbonation. Very dry finish with a modest lingering tartness. Crisp and refreshing.

Overall, a very interesting and flavorful farmhouse ale. This one has a some serious funk going on and has everything else that makes Hill Farmstead beers a delight in which to partake. Another lovely beer from the greatest brewery on the planet.

This one pours a light and hazy yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like hay, lemon candy, minerals, guava, lime, oak, and daffodils.

This is truly excellent, with a clean and bold acidity. There's your typical citrusy HF funk, with a bit more going on - it's super floral and bright, with a big lemon thing, a juicy and tangy tropical thing - maybe guava? - and lime candy, with a slight mineralesque bitterness on the back end. It's so complex, but it's also just stupid delicious.

This is light bodied, crisp and drinkable, and finishes so cleanly, with a nice soft feel to it.

This is crazy good. I had it back to back with regular Flora, and I think I might honestly like Florence Puncheon better. Sacrilege, I know.
