375ml bottle, bottled August 2018, poured into a 12oz white wine glass.

The beer pours a nice light amber color, honey hues, light chill haze with a foamy white head that has nice retention but yields no lacing. The aroma is interesting, has a somewhat smokey and somewhat plasticlike character that is hard to avoid but as it warms, there is a pleasant funkiness, light oak, soft fruitiness, citrus peel and wildflower. The flavors echo the nose, smoke, plastic and bandaid character, interesting funk that does bring out some nice crabapple character, a bit of cherry, tartness, lemon peel, mineral water and soft oak. The mouthfeel is fine, lively and crisp medium body, lighter complexion and finishes with a tart bite.

Verdict: A really interesting saison from Hill Farmstead. The fruit character and the barrel character is quite nice, but it struggles to get into the forefront with the plastic and smokey qualities. Just a potentially nice beer that's hamstrung by some very off flavors.

This might be the worst Hill Farmstead offering on the market.

Medicine cabinet phenol on the nose.

Tart, one-note sour on the palate with a lingering taste of musty first-aid kit Band-Aids on the finish.

This tastes like a throwaway batch of beer that got aged on clearance aisle farmstand fruit in a last ditch effort to salvage a bad batch of beer.

This one pours a light orange color, fairly clear, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This kind of smells rubbery/plasticky, a little bit. I was warned about this, and unfortunately it's kind of true. There's a nice citrusy HF style funk, and a touch of wild apple aromas. I don't really know what crab apple is supposed to smell like.

Luckily the taste doesn't really have that bandaid thing going on. Even without that, this is certainly lower tier HF for sure. There's some slight apple and pear, maybe some melon and citrus, but none of the compexity of the usual HF saison or wild ale. It's slightly prickly and there's a definite off-ness I can't quite place.

This is lighter bodied, with a decent level of drinkability, and a soft level of carbonation. It's got a nice silky softness.

This is not quite as bad as people are saying, but it's still probably the worst HF beer that I've had.

Looks beautiful, orange with nice head and retention. Unfortunately nose is massive band-aid, honey balm, burnt rubber, vick's vapor rub. Taste is more of the same, lingering rubber. glue, chemical adhesive, some blood orange.
