Bottled on 3/22/2019; consumed on 11/9/2023

Pours a viscous, motor-oil black hue capped with a finger and a half of rich, creamy, khaki-colored foam; decent head retention leaves a spotty cap, large, fluffy collar, and a sparse array of spotty lacing strewn around the walls of the glass.

Aroma wafts coffee fudge and a backing hint of cinnamon upfront, with red fruit residuals accenting soft vanilla as a boozy air settles and pillowy bourbon integrates.

Taste offers an immediately apparent toffee and vanilla, slowly phasing to milk chocolate and silky caramels before an airy cocoa char settles through floral coffee roast over the mid-palate; an oaky fade on the back end of the profile appears in tandem with a slight bourbon edge on the finish.

Mouthfeel features a body on the lighter end of medium and a lower carbonation sporting a delicately choppy prickle, leaving slick texturing and a slight char lingering as a building creaminess resounds through a modestly warming, drier finish and semi-sticky swallow.

Coffee integration is layered effortlessly, with ample attention given to the nuance of the individual estate seeing an elevation of already accessible roast profile and quaint barrel depth throughout.

375 mL bottle. Black with reddish tinges. Smells of earthy coffee, rich chocolate, bourbon. Tastes a little sharper. Coffee, chocolate, bourbon. Bourbon is secondary. Very rich coffee and chocolate flavor. Low carbonation. This is an extremely rich beer. I'm torn on it. It's very flavorful, but pushes against my expectations of a coffee stout. Maybe that's what he's going for.

Poured from the 375 ml bottle into the test glass
A - Cobalt color, gentle carbonation, thin ring clings to the perimeter.
S - Coffee, fresh pick tobacco, black pepper, bakers chocolate, licorice and hints of cinamonn.
T - Follows the nose well, add some wonderful char, dark chocolate.
M - Slick on the palate, sweet on every level. start is sweet, finish and linger are much more dry
O - A delightful coffee treatment, the offering is full force and not to be underestimated.

Black oily appearance with a tan foamy head, decent retention for the style, minor lacing. Bold bourbon barrel notes upfront and on the nose, vanilla, espresso, molasses. Thick body, mild carbonation, silky.

very beautiful looking beer. aromas are bourbon, chocolate, bitter coffee. honestly not getting too much on the nose!

on palate this one tastes more coffee forward when first opened (slightly cool) as it reaches room temp this one is bursting with smooth milk chocolate flavor, decadent barrel sweetness dancing around and creating a beautiful melange of desert flavors - getting brown sugar, soft creamy vanilla, fudge, carmel, molassess, coffee candies, mellow spice, oak, super smooth booze quality that is mind blowing, invokes a , very mellow bitterness to this one but just a touch from some roasty coffee character... pretty minimal on the coffee except adding that roast along with some nutty and brown sugar flavors.
