2019 harvest (bottled on 1/21/2020); consumed on 4/21/2023

Pours a slightly foggy, straw-gold body capped with two fingers of fluffy, eggshell-white foam; good head retention yields a slim half-finger of cap, modest, frothy collar, and next to no lacing holding with any longevity to the walls of the glass.

Aroma opens to pear spritz playing into subtly floral, honeyed undertones; a hint of grapefruit zest interplays over riverbed minerality as barnyard funk renders softly lactic undertones over time.

Taste shows fuzzy pear skin imbuing a sweetness amplified by a delicate, floral honey while wispy oak crosses a white wine gloss through the mid-palate; tinges of minerality and barnyard funk are amplified on the back end of the profile.

Mouthfeel brings a medium-light body and a taut fluff of moderate carbonation; tempered acidity fades to crisp, bone-dry textures through the mid-palate, culminating with a semi-wetness and swift, delicate twang easing to a clean finish with residual funk lingering.

Sweet pear and floral honey characterize this fragrant, rustic sipper, with vinous interludes and adjusted funk promising constant refreshment in this welcome variant of an already-exceptional base saison.

Slightly cloudy golden straw yellow body. Tart lemon, fresh pear juice without the roughness of the texture, adding perhaps a touch of acetaldehyde. Light Brett leather. Brings a lighter medium body, good carbonation. Nice pear and citrus finish.

Anna has long been the hidden (in plain sight) gem of Hill Farmstead. This is my second of the fruited Anna’s and it is very good. The blueberry was great as well but Pear is next level.

This one pours a golden yellowish color, with a small head, and a good bit of lacing.

This smells like freshly picked pears - sweet and juicy, along with funky honey, a sort of sweet cakiness, lemon, and funk.

Hill Farmstead does pear well in their beers, between this beer and Flora Pear. There's a sweet dessert like character to the pear here, along with some funky honey sweetness, a smidge of lemony acidity, a nice almost bready backbone.

This is light bodied, sweet, crisp, and very drinkable.

I think this and Anna Plum are the best of the various newer fruited Anna beers. This is really nice stuff.

poured from a 375mL bottle into a snifter. pours a hazy yet bright yellow with a fiber of fizzy white head. the head fizzes away into a a thin collar around the glass as well a thin film a top the beautiful yellow beer. aromas of ripe pear, candied peaches, musty oak, lemon, grass and hay. taste follows although with a nice punch of honey sweetness. between the honey and the fruit, it’s got a candied fruit flavor going that i can’t get enough of. a full, soft mouthfeel with a lively yet dry finish. this is excellent. so drinkable and full of flavor. it’s complex but at the same time approachable. HF nails the saison style so well.
