As we more fully embrace the characteristics of each fruit that we source, we have somewhat reimagined our fruited Farmstead® ales program. To more prominently represent those fruits and the variation of each harvest season, we let the fruit and our learning from past experiences guide us in selecting from our range of barrel-aged Farmstead® ales—sometimes this will be a single base beer, other times it may be a blend of different barrels—all with the goal of best expressing the fruit’s unique aspects. In this instance, we have blended Montmorency cherries from Allenholm in South Hero, Vt., and red raspberries from Elmore Roots in Wolcott, Vt., with a number of sympathetic barrels of Farmstead® ale to provide a thoughtful representation of the fruits in season.

Looks lush and red. Smells of cherry, and berry. Taste like cherry tart. Nice blend overall of cherry and raspberry.

my legend of a buddy back east sent me this, so thankful for it and for him! really cool to have this in close proximity to the pear, totally different drinking experience and not just because the fruit is obviously different. this is way more funky, almost lambic to me, especially in the nose, a lot more grain character overall, more funk and less acid, perhaps a tad bit more rugged too, really special stuff! cool pinkish orange pour to it, some cloudiness towards the bottom of the bottle but not too sedimented or anything, and a high fluffy white head in our white wine glasses. the nose is amazing, very much that lambic type wild funk, hints of cedar, iodine, and wet animal hit me right away, tangy more than sweet from the fruit but not particularly bacterial to me, and incredibly mouthwatering, interesting, and mature. man this tastes so good, really woody and funked out, real well developed wild yeast complexion and the perfect amount of fruit, to me the raspberry is ahead of the cherry, maybe two to one to my senses, but both are obvious still, a light candied thing to the cherry but this is dry overall, puckery without being too sour, and really comes in waves. hints of red hard candy, strawberry jelly, red rose, white wine, and old oak. round body from what must be some wheat malt, fuller feeling, good carbonation on it. really compelling beer, the fruit and the funk together are next level, this is the kind of thing that makes hill farmstead one of the best in the game. delighted to have been able to share this with a homie, absolutely world class and not at all past its prime at this point...

This one pours a dark reddish color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like tart seedy cherry, sweet juicy raspberry, red wine, and lemon.

Flora Cherry was always one of my least favorite fruited HF beers, but Flora Raspberry was alwas one of my favorites, so expectations were hopeful for this one. It's pretty solid - the vinegary and acidic characteristics that I sometimes get from cherry sours aren't there - they're overtaken by sweet, jammy, and juicy raspberry, and a nice lemony funk and acidity, with a little bit of wine barrel.

This is light bodied, clean, lightly acidic, with the impression of liquid raspberry pie.

This is really nice stuff, luckily the raspberry was the star here, with a supporting role from the cherry.

375 mL bottle. Murky red. Smells of cherry pie cherries, light raspberry, a hint of tomato, and some bandaid. Tastes of less dynamic cherry, but not as much tomato. Cherry and raspberry in equal quantities. Bandaid comes back in the back end. Medium light. It's ok, but it's got some problems.
