Style: American Pale Ale (APA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.20%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children. In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well. It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped. Aromatic and flowery, with impressions of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edward.

85 IBU

Pale and Caramel malt; Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, and Warrior hops; House Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Edward is a very well crafted beer with just the right balance and hippiness aroma. I really enjoyed this beer at the brewery and look forward to drinking it again!

Had this at the Whetstone Station Restaurant in Brattleboro. The beer had an incredible murky thick orange appearance and a thick bubbly head that only dissipated slightly throughout my time drinking it. The beer had one of the sharpest orange peel-citrus flavors I personally have had. The aromas were dense and floral. Taste follows the nose with that sweetness from the orange-citrus really coming through. The carbonation to this beer was great as well; excellently crisp and refreshing. Overall, a fantastic drink across all dimensions.

Aroma has an incredibly delicate clean malt with clear lemon citrus notes. Tongue is much the same, the citrus lemon is very precise and elegant, blended in very well with the main beer notes. Very easy finish, and an excellent, more subtle pale ale.

Might be handicapped a bit since I just finished a couple of Abners. Still a fine IPA. Might be time to move to Vermont
