Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children. In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well. It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped. Aromatic and flowery, with impressions of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edward.

85 IBU

Pale and Caramel malt; Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, and Warrior hops; House Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

On draft at Mad Taco in Warren, Vt. Looks amazing, very hazy unfiltered with a beautiful citris aroma. Nice hop bitterness but extremely drinkable. Loved it.

Couple of 16oz drafts in a Belgian tulip. Probably the best looking beer I've had. Maybe it was the sunlight hitting the beer just right, or my general stoke over having this on draft, or who knows what - but the beer looked heavenly. Orange gold with a perfect head. Not clear or turbid - just perfect.

Aroma is an intoxicating mix of citrus, leafy and floral hops, and green pine. Delicate and pronounced.

Taste. The taste! Citrus by way of orange, tangerine, grapefruit zest, peach, melon followed by a crisp, zesty green pine and a crackery malt. Not sure how the malt manages to make itself known under the weight of all the hops but therein lies the beauty of this beer. It's unreal balanced.

Smooth, crisp and perfectly carbonated. Such an easy drinker. For all the accolades and undoubted complexity it still drinks like a plain old delicious beer.

Tasted from draft. Pours a super murky pale gold with white head. Aroma is grapefruit, pineapple, and floral. Taste is moderate to heavily bitter with mild sweetness. Lot of grapefruit on the taste with some other citrus fruits and pine. Little bit of caramel. Excellent overall.

Cloudy light orange amber appearance with one finger of white head. Fairly strong malty citrus aroma. Taste is a very pleasant malt citrus taste with plenty of carbonation and a little dryness at the end

On tap at Hill Farm.
A yellow hazy liquid comes from the tap with a nice white head.

Nose is very inviting, caramel malt, flowers, pine tree, it smells so fresh.

Taste is caramel malt, pine resin, citrus, an APA I wish I could brew.

The glass is empty in no time, it was very refreshing, well balanced, astonishing quality.
