Style: American Pale Ale (APA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.20%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children. In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well. It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped. Aromatic and flowery, with impressions of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edward.

85 IBU

Pale and Caramel malt; Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, and Warrior hops; House Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

This was my first HF that I tried years ago, and absolutely loved everything about it.
Still a classic and always welcomed! Citrusy & light, with an incredible aroma

On tap at Warpigs, pre-CBC. Pale orange. Bitter, with notes of pine, citrus and tropical fruit hops.

Light orange/dark blonde pale ale. Notes of tangerine and pine balance back and forth. Fairly bitter pale ale. Soft mouthfeel with good carbonation.

L: Mildly turbid, burnt orange color, nice thick off white head, really solid lacing.
S: Sweet, honey like malts and tropical fruit notes. Maybe a tiny touch of dankness.
T: Malts are interesting, sweet with an almost corn like graininess. A touch of bitterness but very well balanced. Tropical notes mesh well with sweetness and make for a great drinking experience. But overall flavors are expertly balanced on the palate and the drink is very smooth and drinkable.
F: Body is smooth and full yet not at all heavy. Very frothy and cream like. Carbonation is medium and balances well with the bitter hop notes.
O: Really enjoyable, flavors more on the mild side, reminding you of their presence without being overbearing and having no balance. Great pale ale.

Edward is a very well crafted beer with just the right balance and hippiness aroma. I really enjoyed this beer at the brewery and look forward to drinking it again!
