Notes / Commercial Description:
Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett.

Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

One of the best porters I have had. The aroma has everything you would like in a good porter: a lot of roasted malt, smells of chocolate and hints of coffee. Lots of body and good carb. Seriously good porter that I would love to drink again.

Look: Jet black, brown head, lacing on glass
Aroma: Chocolate, roasted malts, cream, dark fruits
Taste: Coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, starts sweet, but finishes dry and bitter
Feel: Creamy, but a touch thin
Overall: an amazing porter, would pair incredibly well with dessert

L: Black with a espresso crema-like frothy head that creates beautiful lacing.
S: Big robust smell with hints of coffee, chocolate and dark fruits.
T: So bold and delicious. So much complexity with so many different flavors bursting through.
F: Big body with a silky feel. Nicely bitter and it has an amazing sticky finish.
O: This beer changed the way I think about porters and what they can be. This is a best-in-class beer. In my opinion this isn't just the best porter in the world but one of the best beers in the world.

Poured into a Hill glass because proper glassware is soooo important.

It's a pitch black with a finger width head length of a tan hue. The aroma is one of coconut, booze, and brown sugar. There is a bit of cloying sweetness up front with a light amount of dark chocolate. More chocolate and some coconut later in the mouth with the a finish of more light coconut. It's definitely better as it warms. A very good porter nonetheless.

was excited to find a bottle of this at the neighborhood beer store, would love to see more hill farmstead beers available to buy in bottles or four packs. pour is pretty much black with a light tan head. really nice scent on it - very roasty with notes of chocolate and coffee. taste is smokey and rich, coffee, chocolate, caramel. overall, this is a really good beer.
