Notes / Commercial Description:
Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett.

Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

A: Pours a rich black color with a two finger khaki colored head and ridiculous lace. Just sticks all over the glass.

S: SUPER roasty with some charred wood, tons of freshly ground dark roast coffee, dark chocolate and just a hint of toffee.

T: So much coffee and charred wood. Rich and silky with a lingering hop and charred wood bitterness. Dark chocolate and bittersweet chocolate galore. A very solid porter.

2015 Bottle Poured into HF Tumbler

L - Dark body with a thin, light brown head
S - Lots of roasty goodness. Some chocolate is present.
T - Same as the aroma. Very balanced with some nice bitter chocolate.
F - Drinks semi creamy for a porter. Slight coating of the mouth.
O - Very good porter. Super drinkable. Glad I had the chance to try.

Poured from a growler filled four weeks ago.
Appears dark black with a nice mocha head. After a few minutes the head has dissolved to a ring of small bubbles.
Taste is rich with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and espresso. This could be an imperial stout if I didn't know any better.
Mouth feel is full bodied and creamy
Overall one of the, if not the best, Porters I've tried. The depth and richness of flavor put this one in a different class than most porters.

This beer was a very big disappointment. I don't understand the high rating for this one, must be Hill Farmstead hype. Had Victory At Sea earlier this week and VAS eats Everett's lunch every day of the week and every week of the year.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a snifter. Pours a deep black, with a dark 1 inch brown head that has some significant staying power. Smell dominated by a roasty coffee smell, with some dark chocolate and caramel. Taste led by a rich dark chocolate, hints of caramel, some dark fruit, and a lingering roasty finish. Mouthfeel is hardy, thick, but not dry. Overall this is an outstanding Porter, worthy of it's lofty reputation.

Had two growlers full of this and has to be easily top 3 porters I have ever had. Beautiful black bear with a tan/khaki head. Immediately you get tons of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, caramel. Just a great clean porter.
