Notes / Commercial Description:
Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett.

Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

I usually don't pay much attention to how a beer looks but its hard to miss the fact that this porter looks perfect! Jet black with a good inch of a tan foamy head that is telling me I'm not going to be dissappointed. The smell is burnt coffee and chocolate. The taste has very good balance with a lingering hop presence to balance the roastiness and chocolate flavor. It drinks smooth and overall is a very satisfying porter.

Don't know the vintage, but it's an older bottle.

L -Beautiful dark black beer with a nice mocha head.
S - Nose seems to have dropped off a tad but I'm getting roasted dark malts with hints of earthiness and some spicy notes. Some sweeter aromas too. As it warms up, some smokey/umami notes come through.
T - Very drinkable dark roasted malt balanced with some milky/chocolatey/vanilla sweetness. Damn is this good. Finishes with a little bit earthy/spicy notes, but dark roast malts dominate the finish. Way past the finish I can taste the hops...tastes like the aroma you smell when you visit a hoppy brewery. Super awesome!
F - For a porter, very think mouthfeel. Thicker than a lot of stouts I've had before. Lighter carbonation.
O - Just an amazing beer that I'm fortunate enough to have tried. Almost drinks like a stout but has some very distinctive porter qualities. Would happily drink this again! Cheers!

L - dark body, with thin, light brown head
S - roasted notes with hints of chocolate
T - lots of roasted notes, but more balance with bitter chocolate
F - very interesting play between lighter carbonation and thicker feel on the liquid itself
O - almost drinks more like a stout with the roasted, chocolate notes. But a very rich, well made enjoyable drink!

Pours nearly black with a thick, foamy tan head. Smells of roasted malt, fresh brewed coffee and a hint of earthy hops. The hop presence is less noticeable in the taste. Coffee and cocoa flavors dominate. Nice thick texture. An exceptional porter.
