Notes / Commercial Description:
Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett.

Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

On tap at Fool's Gold, poured a complete black with a thick foamy brown head. The smell is dark chocolate with coffee and hints of tobacco. The flavor is bitter chocolate, a little coffee, and some spicy smoke. The feel was a little creamy with some decent carbonation. Easily one of the best porters I've ever had!

A: Poured from the 750 ml growler into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is black with a thin film of light brown head.

S: Roasted barley malt, toasted nuts and some earthy hops.

T: Roasted barley, roasted coffee beans, generic nuttiness. Some cocoa powder and cocoa nibs. Finishes with a piney hop bitterness doing battle with the roasty bitterness. Modest heat noted on the back of the palate from the ABV. This is just a really tasty porter.

M: Medium in heft - a bit meatier than your standard porter. Carbonation is a bit subdued.

O: Excellent. Not awe-inspiring with unique flavors or anything "weird." Just a really good porter.

Always a pleasure to have this. Best standard porter I've ever had. Awesome taste, creamy taste. The malt just works perfect with everything. Nice medium smooth feel in the mouth. A+
