Notes / Commercial Description:
Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett.

Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Bottle. Dark brown with a mocha head. Nice roasted malt aromas. Easy drinking with a really good mouthfeel and body. Rich roasted malt notes with mellow caramel, chocolate, toffee, and expresso undertones. Honestly, I prefer an imperial stout to a porter 99 out of 100 times. However, this is a very fine ale and an exception to the rule. One quick side note, this bottle had a bit of age on it so the hop characteristics were diminished. This is one HF beer that lives up to the hype...

Poured from a bottle into a modified tulip glass.
A - Dark as night, ebony wood, wonderful mocha cap can be coaxed from a vigorous pour.
S - Bakers chocolate, hint of smoke, cocoa and toffee, just beautiful.
T - Roasted grains, a bit of Madagascar chocolate note, deep grains and a surprising raspberry buried deep in there.
F - Silky is the primary observation. Finish is a bit oily, and the complete palate coverage never ends.
O - A wonderful porter, in the Danish model, super body and flavor.
Cheers
