Cloudy yellow, plenty of white foam.

Floral, melon.

Ripe melon I think is the best description of Galaxy. No bite to pin down, just a sorbet sort of orange and melon taste. Not much to argue with here.

Feels like lighter carb.

Another winner from Hill Farmstead. Just like most of their brews I've had this one is not a big - in your face juice bomb but just a well done, tasty and super smooth beer that drinks easy but still packed with flavor. Wonderful beer

$1 per oz at a bar in Brooklyn. Currently #43 in the Top 250.

HEAD: Frothy, soft, white. Leaves a thick and even coating of lacing on the Glass's sides as it recedes, which takes about 2 minutes.

BODY: Unfiltered and hazy, with a dull orange-copper colour. No yeast/lees are visible within.

Appears aptly carbonated. Not a unique or special appearance for an IPA by any stretch.

AROMA: Yogurty tang. Passionfruit. Citrus zest. Keylime. Fresh floral hop aromatics. Not too tropical by any means.

Pale malts erase any trace of hop bitterness. It's pleasantly pungent, suggesting a balanced yet surprisingly complex beer for a single hop (I)IPA.

Aromatic intensity is moderate.

TASTE: A unique mix of yogurt-like tang and fruity hops make this a delightful and balanced brew. The subtle tug of tropical Passionfruit on the more straightforward keylime citrus hop emphasis works well, with floral hop flavours lending this ale additional complexity.

Pale malts balance out any hop bitterness. Good depth of flavour. Above average flavour duration.

It fulfills the potential of its premise, showcasing galaxy hops remarkably well and making me view the hop differently than I had before...But as a single hop beer, it is limited in its intricacy. Drinkers after a still more multidimensional and masterfully complex brew may be let down.

Not an IPA for those drinkers after a piney, grapefruity, resinous, or oily hop profile.

TEXTURE: Smooth, coating, wet, well-carbonated, medium-bodied, soft, and approachable, with a cool refreshing quality to it that helps elevate it beyond many beers in the style, playing with that odd yogurty flavour that Hill Farmstead seems uniquely able to coax out of certain hops (often Simcoe).

OVERALL: Dangerously drinkable for its moderately high ABV, and no doubt one of the best galaxy single hop beers I've ever had. I wouldn't count it up there with the very best in the style (and I consider it an IPA), but it's absolutely worth trying and I'd definitely buy it regularly if not for the price. Not Too 250 material by my personal estimation, but it's unusually well-executed and joins the company of Mikkeller's Single Hop Amarillo as one of the best single hop IPAs I've had. Hat tip to Hill Farmstead.
