The series of experimental Double IPAs continues. This one is hopped with ample amounts of Columbus and is reminiscent of… an Imperial Harlan?

ridiculously good looking beer, nice hazed appearance with sticky bands and microdots of lace all over the glass. somewhat underwhelming on the nose, but the palate makes up for it. Minty and other herbaceous green notes, grapefruit, peach, hints of tropical fruit, definite orange note, grassy and earthy dankness, somewhat pronounced piney bitterness on the finish. overall the intended flavors definitely come together and the appearance and feel is absolute perfection - like most HF DIPAs. its probably one of my less favorite in the society & solitude series, but still quite excellent.

Finally made it up after traveling to Maine from Ohio. This is a juicy, balanced, complex DIPA that maintained its freshness days after I drove it back to Ohio. I kept it on ice. Definitely fruity, some dank, and quaffable!

Candied orange and some light grapefruit, pretty malty. Moderate bitterness and decent mouthfeel. Bittern orange and caramel malt sticks around in a somewhat unpleasant aftertaste. Not that impressive, especially for a Hill Farmstead DIPA. Not distinguishable from an above average DIPA from your local brewpub.
