Poured from a 16 oz can dated 9/8/17 (wow) to a pilz glass. I did not read the date correctly in the store. Hope I'm not too late.
Pours translucent orange, not clear, not hazy. Nice head, fades to nice lacing.
Smells of apricots before their skin is cut. Background mustiness.
Slight citrus in the front, quickly turns to medium hop bitterness.
Carbonation is about right, a little too much mouth coating for a Marzen, but then it is intentionally off style.

Gold color with a big, foamy white head.
Fruity aroma, sweet and citric. Caramel.
Lots of grapefruit, some melon. Caramel.
Nicely hopped.
Enjoyable beer. Is it a Marzen or an IPA?

Poured into a clear mug.
The appearance was a murky pale orange woody color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Lace was somewhat clingy with some spotty foamy edges.
The aroma seemed to balance well between all of the hops - it's citrusy, piney, grassy and earthy. Malts are there, but somewhat hidden and biscuit-like, slightly bready.
The flavor was somewhat sweet yielding to a blend of the breadiness to the citrusy, piney and earthy hops. Aftertaste was biscuity and citrusy/earthy hoppy with a sturdy bitterness.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt on par. Citrusy to piney and earthy finish with a touch of the malts.
Overall, an Oktoberfest that wants to be an IPA? Yes, somewhat. I can see it that way. I'd have again for me, but true fans of the style may want to steer clear of this one. It's quite hoppy.

From the tall boy can in a snifter via Zid----Cheers!
This robust little beast pours a medium cloudy amber with a nice head
of white foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin subtle pool, and sports some
darn nice lacing. Nose of grassy hops, garden fruit notes of musk and honey dew melons,
and mild toasted malt with caramel touches. Flavors follow the nose with a honey dew
and sugar melon that are wrapped tight in a grassy hop note and given a medium backbone of
lightly toasted malts touched with honey. Very nice mouth feel; medium light body, medium
carbonation, and a grassy hop finish with a goodly amount of melon and sweet malt to the
finish.

Overall, a nice and unique treat from Vermont.

Cheers!

A: The beer is relatively clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, leaving some specks of bubbles on the surface, a narrow collar around the edge of the glass, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted malts are present in the nose along with notes of grassy hops and hints of melons.
T: The taste is rather malty and has some flavors of toasted malts but has a strong underlying backbone of grassy hops with notes of citrus and melons. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a nice version of an Oktoberfest as it has the malt flavors you would expect but is better balanced out

Purchased at Tamarack Homebrew Supply in Lakeville, MA. 16oz can poured into a pint glass. Amber in color with a bit of haze to it. Fluffy white head that slowly resides into a thin lacing. Really nice aroma, smelling strong of those herbal/grassy noble hops, much like a classic German pilsner. Hop flavor is very prevalent and fights the sweet, bready malts with every sip. Favors of pine and a bit of lemons find from the hops. Crisp and dry mouthfeel like a good marzen should.

All in all it's basically an IPL with a slightly bigger malt bill. I liked it a lot and would gladly drink it again.

Poured from 16.9oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light golden brown color, with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains piney hops, lager yeast, caramelized malts and some citrus.

T: The taste starts out with a nice burst of piney hops bitterness. Then some breadiness comes in from lager yeast and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. There is some mild citrus and caramel sweetness that provides a good balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good hoppy representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while.

16oz can. Pours a very slightly hazy golden orange color with a half inch of head. Minimal lacing. The aroma is grassy, floral and herbal hops with some sweet bready malts and notes of citrus peel. The taste is sweet bread followed up by grassy hops. More citrus comes out towards the end with some piney and grassy hops. Bready, citrus peel finish with some pine. Earthy, sweet and bitter. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. This beer delivers on the name is definitely worth seeking out.

First had poured from pint can, bottom stamped “9/8/17,” gift from friend, into faceted mug. Looks perfect, smells great, tastes very good. Keep those craft lagers coming, Captain!

canned 9/21/17
Pours a light fizzy bubbly 1 finger head that fades at a fair pace, a little lacing, mostly clear slight chill hazed iced tea tan color

Nose is pretty nice, plenty of toasted lager malts, straw like grains, lager softness and faint minerality, soft lagering and a touch of lagering fruit, a bit of grassy floral hops.

Taste brings hops out front, grassy herbal and a bit spicy, black tea, almost chewy spicy hop, earthy as well, into soft lager malts mostly drowned out by the hops, toasted straw grainy malts, a bit of a fruity lager. Finish is drier big spicy herbal hops lingering.

Mouth is med to lighter bod, soft lager notes, decent carb

Overall started nice, great nose, but the hops way overpowered the Marzen flavor unfortunately because I think it would have been great without the overpowering hops.

16 oz can poured into a pilsener glass

Clear golden yellow , streams of carbonation , one finger off white foam cap , sticky lacings

Aroma of pine hops

Taste- a marzen is usually malty Sweet yet this is dominated by the pine hop taste

Low sudsing , gentle hop bite , lingers on the tongue

Reminds me more of an ipa than a marzen

Good beer

I like Mandarina Bavaria hops and the beer is well done but it is difficult to detect the finer points of a Marzen in this beer. I understand why von Trappe is making hoppy beers for the market but why over hop a traditionally malty, bready beer?
Other than that it does have a lovely aroma and taste of apricot, orange and citrus rind. Sadly, it is missing the mouth feel that is unique to the style.
