Creamy, toffee aromas balance the bitterness of Munich malts in our roasted brown lager. Although dark in color, Dunkel is medium in body and finishes dry and clean, resulting in a rich lager that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Poured from a 12 oz can purchased via mix pack; no decipherable birth date. Pours deep dark amber with two fingers of foamy head. Notes of sweet caramel, biscuits, and burnt malts. Very pleasing... great for the style.

On tap at Stirr off market street in chattanooga TN.
A really nice tasting dunkle with a great texture. Creamy yet refreshing with a mild bitter chocolate malt roasted flavor and hints of tobacco/toasted nuts.
Simple but solid.

It's alright, better than most of their Von Crapp.
Looks good, true to the style. Tastes okay. Smells weak.
Meh.

Pours a medium dark brown color with a minimal head that lasts a quite a while. Aroma of roasted malts. Taste is peppery with only a slight hoppy bitterness at the finish.

Had Von Trapp's Dunkel poured from 12-oz. can, bottom stamped "BEST BY: 02/25/24," into pilsener glass.
Pours deep ruby-amber with clarity and 2-finger very light tan head, with excellent retention, leaving rings of Belgian lace etched down the glass. Aroma of mild roast malts and a little orchard fruit off pour, with the fruit continuing, joined by mild bread and a little sweet caramel as warms. On tasting, begins smooth and sweetly bready, then a little tangy citrus bite, over a very mild but creamy caramel malt backbone, with the fruit and malt carrying into a substantial, but not quite sticky, moderately bitter, toasted bread crust finish.
My first Von Trapp by fortune of its beginning distribution to Tennessee in Oct. 2023, the Dunkel is a beautiful beer, with a bit of less common fruitiness, but a nice bread board finish.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours deep red with a nice off white head. Smells of fresh fruit and roasted grain. Tastes of nuts, fresh bright fruit, and sweet caramelized grain. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a good beer.

Not as strong as figured. A good dark beer for those not seeking a deep heavy flavored beer. A more medium style dark beer. Enjoyable ale.
