The Trapp Baltic Porter comes in a tulip glass very dark and bright. The head is small but the nose is full of chocolate liquor. On the tongue this beer is thick but not overpowering. Flavors of milk chocolate, chocolate cordial, and a slight burnt maltiness. A very good beer had it at the Farmhouse Tap & Grill in Burlington, VT.

The strongest offering I've seen from Trapp so far.

Pours a pitch black with a thin brown head into my glass. Black is always a good color for beer.

A tiny bit of roasted malt to compliment dark fruit and cream in the nose.

A decent amount of roastiness that mingles with the sweet, creamy flavors.

What a deceptive mistress. Lingering creaminess and roastiness. Very "light" feel, unlike a thick imperial stout.

Wow. Brewmaster Allen Van Anda and the Trapp Lodge continue to impress with their offerings. I have yet to have a sub-par offering from them.

Alewife and I were out touring around on 02APR11 and opted to stop into the Trapp Deli/Brewery for some libations. While Alewife had a Dunkel, I opted for this new offering, at $5.00 for a 0.5l stein.

This one was a deep, dark brown color, with tinges of mahogany at the edges. A thin, tan head topped things off, with scattered lace sticking about. The aroma was a bit muted, though some malty roastiness came through, with some hopping as well. Solidly medium, it was also fairly smooth while being imbibed.

It had nice roasted malts present, with touches of light caramel, toffee and cocoa. Subtle sweetness is also present, with some restrained floral hops at the dryish finish. Solid and pleasing overall, and the ABV is well-hidden. Zum Wohl!!
