12 FL OZ. bottle
Served in a weizen glass

It is a yellow orange color and hazy. A vigorous pour yielded several inches of off-white head that leaves a little lacing.

Well, it smells like an apricot wheat. Lots of apricot aroma.

The taste follows the smell, all apricot. It has a little tartness.

Medium mouthfeel

I did not even see what this beer was when I grabbed it. I just knew it was something from Odd Side that I hadn't tried. I love Odd Side. This is one of their less remarkable beers though.

I picked up a bottle of Odd Side Ales Nectar Of The Brewer yesterday at The Lager Mill. This one seems pretty interesting and it's been a while since I've had an apricot beer, so lets see how it goes. 2015 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a teku.

A- The label looks nice, it goes with the name and it's just a little eye catching. It poured a cloudy golden orange color that took on more of an orange color when held to the light with a fingers worth of cream and bubbly off white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end it left some patchy lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the apricot being the first to show up and it dominates this beer with a nice natural apricot aroma and it's followed by a little bit of a tartness. Up next comes just a light grainy and bready malt aroma with a little bit of doughy yeast coming through in the background. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, the apricot shows up well.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a higher amount of sweetness with the apricot still being the first to show up and it imparts the same aspects that it did in the aroma with those nice natural apricot flavors still sticking out the most in this beer. Up next comes the malts which show up a little more than they did in the aroma and they impart the same aspects t and go into the aftertaste along with a medium amount of tartness and some apricot flavors. This is a pretty nice tasting beer, but it's a little too sweet.

M- Smooth, a little refreshing, not too acidic, crisp, on the lighter side of being medium bodied with a slightly higher amount of medium bitterness. The mouthfeel is pretty nice and it works well with this beer.

Overall I thought this was a pretty nice beer and I thought it was a nice example of the fruit beer, the apricot showed up nicely and it brought some tartness to this bee which I wasn't expecting and I liked that. This beer had nice drinkability, I think I could drink a couple of them, but anymore than that and the sweetness would start to get to me. What I like the most about this beer is taste, it's tart, fruity with a little bit of malts. What i like the least about this beer was the sweetness, I wish it was toned down some. I would buy this beer again when in the mood for a tart fruit beer and I would recommend trying if you like tart fruit beers. All in all I was happy with this beer, it delivered when it came to the apricot and the added tartness was nice. It's not a favorite Oddsides beer, but it is above average for a fruit beer. Nice job guys this was a nice and unique beer.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of apricot, lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, pepper, clove, wheat, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of apricots, fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big apricot, lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, pepper, clove, wheat, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of herbal bitterness/yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of apricot, pepper, clove, wheat, biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of apricots, fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very good fruited witbier style. All around good robustness and balance of apricot, fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
