Bottled 9/16/15

L- One finger off-white head, burnt orange, a bit hazy.

S- Pineapple, citrus, a little buttery, some coconut, some brown sugar sweetness, a bit of the alcohol.

T- Citrus, a bit of brown sugar, little bit of coconut, alcohol isn't too noticeable, medium/high bitterness.

F- On the fuller side, a medium syrup.

O- A nice barrel aged DIPA, still very hoppy but with that light added coconut flavor from the barrel.

L: Medium gold and bright with a white head of creamy fluff, there's solid retention and good lacing to this one.
S: A nice hops presence makes itself known inside a bit of wood and vanilla. Very nicely rounded with a bit of citrus and tropical fruits and earthy grassiness.
T: I'm really torn about this score because this is a delicious beer but touting it as a DIPA makes me want the hoppiness to be more pronounced. The barrel makes it taste like vanilla is actually added to it and imparts some caramel sweetness as well.
F: This is a fluffy but still crisp beer that is exceedingly smooth. The feel is very good. No bite or harshness, cleaner than expected, just great overall in a medium-full body with lots of brightness. It barely keeps from being overly effervescent.

Pours hazy Amber. Foamy, short, Light tan head that lasts shortly.

Smells bourbon, malts, late Citrus, Light alcohol And vanilla hints.

Taste First up Bourbon and light vanilla. Followed by light citrus peel, bready malt, caramel and Pine. Finish is dry with a bourbon linger. Medium body and smooth medium carbonation.

This beer pours amber in color with golden highlights. It is hazy and topped with an inch of beige head that leaves decent lacing.

It has light bourbon notes. The malt comes through with some faded hop aromas.

It has bourbon in the taste with vanilla and caramel along with booze. There is just enough bitterness in the finish to keep it from being too sweet.

Medium mouthfeel

This is pretty solid with almost a year and a half of age on it. It is a not a commonly aged style that is a treat to try. I did it for a change of pace.

Boozy mess. Taste like straight up bourbon. Barely any hop presence. Moth feel is tacky and medium biddies. Very one dementional. Maybe with age the barrel will fade and the good will be there, but fresh this is not a good beer for the style of ba ipa

Pours hazy, murky orange with not too much head, save for about a 1/2" of white foaminess that settles down quickly. Nose is almost entirely alcohol. In fact, that's all I am getting from it. Taste is much better, and for all the alcohol in the nose, its nearly the last thing I get. Wood, bourbon, and grapefruit dominate until the sweetness and alcohol pipe in. Finishes slightly bitter but mostly sweet from this medium bodied beer.
