Kind of a strange combination of flavors in this one. Looks nice, pale golden color with tons of fluffy white head and sheets of lingering lacing. Smells of mint and lime, which dominate the hops and malt. Tastes odd - like a combination of the acidic lime from a Corona and a strange aftertaste that reminds me of chewing gum. The actual ale flavors are very vague and distant. Mild thin mouthfeel and great carbonation. Just not a flavor profile I’d repeat. Disappointing as I love this local brewery.

12 FL OZ. bottle
Served in an oversized stemless wine glass

This beer pours clear and golden. It is topped with less than an inch of head that leaves no lacing.

It smells like mint and lime.

The taste is quite refreshing. Mint and lime wash over my tongue with hints of the blonde ale taste in the finish.

Thin mouthfeel

A refreshing beer on a Sunday morning.

Pours gold. Foamy, short, white head fades fast.

Smells lime, yeast, mint, malt and citrus.

Tastes tart lime, citrus, sweet mint, apple and light yeast. Finish is semi dry with a bready and citrus linger. Lighter body and fizzy higher medium carbonation.

I picked up a bottle of Oddside's Beerjito for $1,89 at The Lager Mill. I'm not a big Mojito fan, but I'm always down to try a new beer from Oddsides, so lets see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a teku.

A- The label looks good, it goes well with the name and it's eye catching. It poured a slightly hazy golden orange color that took on more of a pale golden color when held to the light and it had half a fingers worth of bubbly white head that died down to a thin ring that eventually faded away and it left some spotty lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the mint being the first to show up and it imparts a strong mint aroma and it's followed by the lime which is lighter and still noticeable. Up next comes the malts and they impart a grainy, pale malt. bready and doughy aromas coming through. The mint dominated the aroma. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, but I wish it was a little more balanced.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma, but more balanced and it starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the lime being the first to show up this time and it's nice and noticeable. Up next comes the mint which is a little lighter than it was in the aroma, but it imparts the same aspects that it did in the aroma and it's the flavor that sticks out the most. Up next comes the malts which impart a bready, doughy and slightly toasted malt flavors. On the finish there's a lighter amount of tartness with some lingering lime and mint flavors with just a little bit of bready malts showing up in the aftertaste. This is a nice tasting beer, but I wish the flavors worked a little better together, the bready malts seemed to throw it off a little.

M- A little smooth, a little crisp, medium bodied with a slightly higher amount of medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice, but I wish it was smoother.

Overall I thought this was a nice beer and a solid experimental beer, it was pretty close to living up to it's name and most of the flavors were just as advertised, but I couldn't help but think more sourness and a little less malt flavors would put this beer right where it needs to be. This beer had ok drinkability, one is enough for me, I don't really have the urge to drink to in a row. What I like the most about this beer was that the lime and mint flavors came through nicely. What I like the least about this beer is the how well the flavors worked together and the drinkability, those two aspects could use some work. I wouldn't buy this beer again, but I wouldn't turn one down and I would only recommend it if you really like that lime and mint combo. All in all this wasn't a bad beer and it has potential, I think with a little more work this could be a nice example of a experimental beer. It's not a favorite Oddsides beer and it's just a little above average for a experimental beer. Solid job guys, but with a little tweaking this could be better, keep up the creativity.

12 oz. bottle, bottled 02/25/16 printed on the label. Another new one from Oddside Ales, this one an "Ale with lime and mint added". "Hand crafted to remove gluten." No abv listed on the bottle.

Poured into a Duvel tulip snifter.

A - Pours a nice bright golden body, hazy with lots of nice sediment, with two fingers of frothy fluffy white head that stays awhile, leaving good fluffy sheets of lacing. Appears aptly carbonated. Looks very nice.

S - Aroma is very interesting. Bready lager yeast jump out at me initially, but there is tons of interesting stuff going on here. Notes of honey, coconut, spearmint, lime zest / pith.

T - Taste follows the nose: an interesting amalgamation of flavor going on here: earthy, herbal, leafy from the mint - evokes notes of tea, with a crisp tartness from the lime zest / earthy rind / pith flavor. Notes of coconut and pear, with some yeast-derived fruitiness on the end.

M - Feel is very smooth, crisp, clean, & drinkable. Light-bodied, good carb, with a semi-dry finish.

Overall, a very unique and interesting offering from Odd Side Ales; on par with some of the cocktail-inspired ales i have had from Pipeworks in the past. Excellent stuff; i look forward to more beers like this from Odd Side.

Poured into a pint glass it has a clear yellow body with a white head of an inch. Smell of lime, mint, lots of yeast, biscuit, bread-y malt, lemon citrus, and some slight melon. Taste is lots of mint, lime, bread-y malt, lemon, bit of melon and floral on the end, pear, and some light earth-y hops. Mouth feel is light to moderate as well as body and carbonation. It's a decent beer for it's eccentric style but I wouldn't buy it again, it just doesn't taste good enough overall.
