I knew going in the tartness of the apricots balanced with the wheat would be the make or break for this beer. Well that made it my friends. Very tart to start, then a relief of wheat brings a warm balance to the palate and allows the apricot sweetness to come out and play. Not a lot of nuance here, but delicious.

Pours hazy deep orange. Foamy, short, off white head that fades fast.

Smells wheat, yeast funk, tart, fruit, lemony citrus.

Tastes lemon, citrus, tart, light funk and light apricot. Finish is dry with a lemon and tart fruit linger. Medium body and fizzy medium carbonation.

500ml bottle. Served in a snifter glass. Pours a slightly hazy darker orange-caramel body, one finger white head, good retention, bits of lacing. Smells of massive apricot, wheat, lactic acid, even a light funk, peach and stone fruit. It's really nicely balanced, yet reasonably intense. Flavour is similarly balanced with a lot of stone fruit, apricot, peach, light straw, wheat, moderate lactic acid. Not too intensely sour, balanced and just all around solid. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied, good carbonation, balanced with a nice acidic finish. Overall, a very pleasant surprise as to how good this turned out. I'd buy this again if I could.

Copper hued and slightly hazy in complexion. There's no discernible head and yet there are plenty of vibrant carbonation bubbles erupting from within. The aroma is overwhelmingly tart with apricots and pale wheat. The taste is aggressively tart with overripe apricots and lactobacillus. The mouth is very crisp, dry, and refreshing.

S - Aroma is apricot, peach, green apple and lactic sourness.

T - The taste follows the aroma. Apricot, peach, lemon, green apple, wheat and white vinegar.

M - Light bodied with medium carbonation. Very crisp mouthfeel with a dry finish.

I picked up a bottle of Oddside's King Of Tarts for $8.99 at The Lager Mill. This is the last one in the tart series that I haven't tired and I'm the most excited to try this one, so lets see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 500ml bottle into a teku.

A- The label is good, it goes great with the name and it's a little eye catching. It poured a hazy burnt orange color that took on more of a brighter orange color when held to the light with a little over a fingers worth of bubbly slightly off white head that died down to a thin ring that eventually faded away and it left just a little bit of spotty lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the wheat ale base being the first tot show up and it imparts a wheat, bready, doughy, sweet malt and grainy like aroma that leads into a noticeable sour aroma that goes into a nice juicy apricot aroma that is pretty noticeable and it has a nice natural aspect to it. This beer has a very nice aroma, there's a good balanced of witbier and sour apricot aromas.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the malts still being the firs to show up and they impart the same aspects that they did in the aroma with a little more sweet malts coming through this time and it goes into a higher amount of medium sourness. Up next comes the apricot and it imparts the same nice and natural juicy apricot aspects that it did in the aroma On the finish there's some lingering sourness with a nice apricot flavor coming through. This is a very nice tasting beer, the balance is just where I would want it and the apricot shows up nicely.

M- Smooth, a little crisp, a little refreshing, medium bodied with a lighter amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice, but I wish it had a little more carbonation.

Overall I thought this was very nice beer and it was a very nice example of an Apricot Sour, after having Fou Foune I was left wanting more apricot sours and while this for sure isn't on that level I think it will do a good job at filling the void during the 99% of the time that I can't get Fou Foune. This beer had good drinkability, I'll have no problem drinking the full bottle. What I like the most about this beer is the taste and aroma, they are very nice and the highlight of this beer along with the balance. What I like the least about this beer is the carbonation, I thought it should be just a little higher. I would for sure buy this beer again and it's something I would stock up on. I would recommend this to anyone who likes sours and apricot sours. All in all i was impressed with this beer, it was very nice and it's easily my favorite beer of the series. It's one of the better Oddside beers I've had and it's a very nice example of the style. Great job guys, this is one tasty beer, keep it up.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a tulip glass. Bottled 2/10/16

L- Hazy golden orange, small slightly off white head.

S- Some medium funky cheesy notes, medium sour, little bit of the fruit coming through, I think I'm getting some noble hop aroma as well.

T- Similar to aroma, but with more sour and fruit.

F- Medium.

O- Very nice sour with fruit, not too much funk and a medium sourness with the fruit on the medium level. Not sure exactly what kind of sour this is but it says a sour wheat beer so i'm leaning towards a fruited Berliner weisse. A tad pricey for a Berliner maybe but a very enjoyable beer.
