Look. You're either into the mint, or you're not. You're gonna bitch that "it was too minty" or "not minty enough." Got it. But this is, in the micro-genre of mint stouts (which includes one from Stone, Iron Fist, Perennial ... and who the fuck else?), a god-tier type of beer. Say "Andes" and I will punch you in the nuts. There is chocolate. There is mint. The cooling sensation is not overpowering. The coffee gives it some depth. The body is thick and solid.

Pours a rich, dark black with a light brown color head. Dissipates quickly but has a good oily look on the surface. Smell is chocolate, coffee, bourbon, mint. Flavors reflect the same, dark chocolate and mint up front, coffee on the aftertaste, a little heat from the bourbon. Medium mouthfeel. Really like what these guys are doing, everything is clicking for them lately.

From bottle. Pours blackish with a quickly gone dark brown head. Light edge rings not much film or anything to stay on top. Smells exactly like a Peppermint Patty. Sting of booze if you look to hard. Very pleasant taste. Slightly elegant and mint is dialed back to be a great compliment. Thick and creamy. Carbonation strikes me as a bit high. Nice little stout.

Let's just start by saying that Odd Side is killing it this year with all these enticing new beers they release, and this is one of their best. I personally don't like mint stouts or even mint flavor chocolate or ice cream, but this beer is great.

Appearance: Black with very thin beige head. Minimal lacing.

Aroma: A whiff of bourbon. Fresh ground coffee. Aromatic Moroccan mint, not peppermint-style of mint. Very aromatic and not peppery or spicy.

Taste: Light chocolate and coffee. Amazing mint flavors. Light pepper aftertaste. It doesn't taste like it's a bourbon barrel aged though, the bourbon in the aroma comes off very subtle.

Mouthfeel: Little thin but fits the style very well. Lightly carbonated.

Overall: I like this better than Hipster Brunch. This is new and will get sold out next release. It's one of the best flavored barrel aged stout out of Michigan. It's light in body and extremely drinkable for a barrel aged stout. One of the best mint stout I've tried if not the best!

This is another new beer from odd side. This is an imperial chocolate coffee mint stout aged in bourbon barrels. To me this beer tastes like Morningwood with a slight kiss of mint added. Very good beer, and much better than I expected. I'm usually not a fan of mint stouts, but this one is very well balanced.

12 oz I to a snifter

Pours black with thin mocha ring
Big mint on the nose. Andes chocolate all the way
Same on the palate - chocolate mint all the way.
Medium bodied. No barrel to speak of.

Nic beer, but certainly a one off fun specialty. Lacking barrel but still good

This beer pours a pitch black with a one finger mocha head that quickly dissipates to a small ring around the edge of the glass. No lacing whatsoever. The smell is mint chocolate chip ice cream, coffee and bourbon. Slight notes of vanilla too. Taste is the same, but with less coffee. Which is actually preferable bc I think any more coffee would muddle the flavor. Just enough barrel taste to compliment but not overpower. Feel is medium heavy and slick. Overall a fantastic BA stout. Actually preferred this one to Hipster Brunch.

Solid bourbon barrel mint coffee stout...a first for me as have not enjoyed all these flavors together before. The mint is not overwhelming by any means, or the coffee for that matter. Peppermint mocha flavors here. Something of a herbal note. Actually preferred at a colder temperature rather than as it warmed.
