NO ingredients per the website. 8% ABV, 61 IBU. 12oz bottle. Unfiltered.
Pours out to a deep ink black, forming a creamy dark tan head with very good retention and lacing. The nose is quite nice, a clean ferment with nice roast character, a dusting of cocoa powder, subtle dark fruit. Mouthfeel is smooth with a medium dense body. Not cloying, lightly tart from the hops. The taste is strong with roasted malts, then followed by some definite cola notes, some cola like sweetness, some prune and soy and black walnut, then a lingering sweetness (lactose) sitting on top of some herbal hop bitterness (medium). No off flavors or aromas.

A nice imperial milk stout. Notice I don't say a nice Imperial russian stout. This is not a 12% RIS. It is what they say it is, an imperial milk stout and it pulls this off quite well. Definitely worth trying. A nice brew.

Nice milk stout. Drinks lighter than it is. Great balance of milk chocolate flavor, slight roast and sweetness. Fairly creamy. With just a bit more velvety mouthfeel this would be great.

12 oz. bottle (dated 1/20/16 from Copper Vine $2.49), poured into Stone snifter.

A- A normal pour creates 1-finger of tan-brown head. The body is very near jet black. Considerable carbonation is apparent during the pour and continues to break the surface. The head drops to a sparse film, but nice lace webbing is left on the glass.

S- Lots of sweet chocolate at first, almost like milk chocolate or a malted shake. Some grainy, roasted malts in the background. A deeper inhale, and I get some coffee, a touch of sugar in the raw, and a little vanilla. It gets a little boozy with some warmth, like a nicer, aged rum or cordial.

T- Big roasted malts up front. It becomes quite sweet through the middle and finishes on the sweet side as well with a mix of chocolate and vanilla. Maybe some dark roast coffee around the mid-finish as well. Pretty bold. Hopping gets overshadowed, but I get minty and slightly spicy hints here and there.

M- A medium body with some grainy, chalky qualities. Medium-heavy carbonation stays rather creamy. The sweetness really makes for a full, sticky finish.

O- A different take on an Imperial style stout. I could see buying another one to satisfy the sweet tooth. Having been in the fridge for a time, this may be better suited for a winter nightcap. I could see drinking another in this sitting.

Pours black with a dark tan head, there’s some leakage on the extreme edges to mahogany brown. Such a gorgeous beer. The nose is filled with huge cocoa, dark chocolate, and char notes. Wow.

The taste translates directly from the nose, with gargantuan cocoa, dark chocolate, and especially char notes on the taste. Gadzooks, this is impressive. I’m heading back to the beer store where I acquired this and picking up another 6er.

12 FL OZ. bottle
Served in a snifter

This beer pours black and is topped with less than an inch of mocha head that leaves virtually no lacing.

The smell is sweet and sugary. I get roasted malt and burnt toast.

The taste is very similar to what I expected from the smell. It is sweet with the roasted malt giving off a burnt flavor in the finish.

Full mouthfeel

I'm a big fan of Odd Side. This one isn't there best offering. It is worth a try, but I would not purchase a six pack of it.

Thank you Blackop555 for this
12 oz bottle poured into a snifter

A- Black with a two finger tan head.

S- Dark fruits, lactos, roasted malts, hints of cocoa powder.

T- Dark fruits, dark chocolate, lactos, roasted malts, some acidic coffee.

M- Smooth, medium body.

O- A decent imperial milk stout, seems like it might be a little past it's prime, but still pretty good. Would have liked to try it fresh, but still better than what I feel like Mac and Charlie made!

I picked up a bottle of Oddside's Fight Milk Stout for $2.69 at The Lager Mill. I'm always down to try a new beer from Oddside's, so lets see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a snifter.

A- The label looks ok, it's a little weird and just a little eye catching. It poured a dark black color that didn't really let any light come through and it had a little over half a fingers worth of slightly creamy darker tan head that died down to a thin ring that eventually faded away and it left a little bit of spotty lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking beer, but I wish it had a little better head and lacing.

S- The aroma starts off with a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness with the malts being the first to show up and they impart a nice roasted and charred malt aromas with some sweet malt and chocolate aromas with the chocolate seeming to stick out the most. Up next comes a slight alcohol aroma with a little bit of a yeast and dark fruit aroma along with some nice creamy aromas showing up in the background. This beer had a good aroma, it's just what I expect from the style.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the malts still being the first to show up and they impart the same malty aspects that they did in the aroma with the dark chocolate still sticking out the most. Up next comes a noticeable alcohol flavor that goes into some yeast which imparts the same aspects that it did in the aroma, but this time it's a little lighter. Towards the end comes the hops which impart a medium amount of bitterness with a little bit of lingering bitterness that goes into some nice dark chocolate flavors in the aftertaste. This is a pretty nice tasting beer, but I wish it was a little less bitter.

M- A little smooth, fairly crisp, a little creamy, on the thicker side of being medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is nice, but I wish it was smoother.

Overall I thought this was a nice beer and a nice example, it was pretty close to how I thought an Imperial Milk Stout would turn out, but I was expecting more of a sweet and boozy finish, but instead it had more of a bitter finish that hurt it just a little. This beer had ok drinkability, one glass is enough for me, anymore than that and it might start to wear on me. What I like the most about this beer is the aroma, it's good and the highlight of this beer. What I like the least about this beer is the bitterness, and drinkability, those two aspects could use a little work. I wouldn't buy this beer again, it's not bad, but it's not fully what I'm looking for when it comes to a Imperial Milk Stout. I can't highly recommend, but if you don't mind a little hops in you Stout than this might be worth checking out. All in all I liked this one, but I didn't love it and I think with a little more work this could be a pretty good beer. It's not a favorite Oddsides beer and it's just a little above average for the style. Nice job guys, this is a solid Imperial Milk Stout.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/20/2016. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, vanilla, cream, light smoke/char, herbal, light pepper, light dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, moderate earthy hop, and light fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, vanilla, cream, light smoke/char, herbal, light pepper, light dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char and herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, vanilla, cream, smoke, char, herbal, light pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, moderate earthy hop, and light fruity yeast flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast/hop bitterness that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial milk stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, moderate earthy hop, and light fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. This felt hoppy for the style, but it wasn’t overdone. A very enjoyable offering.

12 ounce bottle into a snifter.

Pours a dark brown, somewhat opaque, with not very much of a head or lacing. Smell brings roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, some hazelnut. Taste also leads with roasted malts- not as strong as the nose, chocolate, some cocoa, vanilla, some lactose, a little coffee, some bitterness on the finish. Smooth, full bodied for the style, somewhat creamy, the taste lingers a bit.

This is surprisingly good, at least to me. Big aroma, good flavor, full bodied, good price point for what you get. Well worth a purchase.

Looks dark and chocolately. Tons of alcohol is visible. Thin head.

Smells slightly burnt. Lots of charred malt. Tons of alcohol. Literally way too much abv on the nose for just an 8% beer. Very Chalky and bittersweet chocolate smelling.

Tastes much to my surprise like semi sweet /milk chocolate. Still a very bitter element from all the charred malt but finishes ridiculously sweet for the up front burnt chocolate you get hit with.

Mouthfeel is very thin liquid with heavy carbonation if you can inside that. In you mouth there is little viscous volume to it, but as it goes down it leaves you with a frothy full leftover mouthfeel.

Overall unique. "Imperial milk stout" could not be more accurate. It's literally an extremely bitter imperial stout offset by sweet lactose
