Very nice IPA from the great Odd Side Ales. No date printed on bottle. Pours a great light amber-yellow color with some fluffy white head after a rocky pour and small sheets of lingering lacing that persisted throughout the entire drink. Great appearance! Smells of ripe fruit, mango, pineapple, grapefruit and lemon. Also malt, piney and herbal hops. Taste follows the nose, good hit of bitter hops with the sweeter malt backbone in the background. Smooth mild mouthfeel and good carbonation. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

I picked this up at the Binny's store in Bloomingdale, IL as part of a build-you-own 6 pack for $9.99.making this single 12oz bottle $1.67. I could not find a freshness date anywhere on the bottle.
The beer poured a slightly hazed yellow color with a huge 4-5 finger white head that lasted a loing time and left some incredible lacing.
The beer had a pine hop smell to it along with a good amount of citrus y pineapple.
Initially there is a malty sweetness to it along with fruity pineapple flavor, but then when you swallow you get a big burst of bitter pine hops. I loved it.
Creamy mouthfeel with a medium body.
An excellent west coast APA.

I picked up a bottle of Oddside's Troll Toll at The Lager Mill. This one caught my interest because of the use of lactose in a Session IPA, i'm interested to see how this will turn out, so lets see how it goes. 3016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into an IPA glass.
A_ The label is good, it will appeal to anyone who likes IT's Always Sunny In Philadelphia and if your don't know what that is than it will get right over your head, it's eye catching, that's for sure. It poured a hazy golden color which took on more of a pale yellow color when held to the light with a fingers worth of slightly creamy white head that died down to a thin ring that eventually faded away and it left just a little bit of spotty lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking beer, I have no complaints.
S- The aroma starts off with a lower amount of medium of sweetness with the hops being the first to show up and they impart a typical west coast style hop aromas with some citrus rind, dank, green hops and citrus rind like aromas that leads into the malts which impart a grainy, pale malt and slight bready aromas with just a slight lactose aroma that give it a little bit of a creamy aroma. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, it lives up to it's description.
T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a medium amount of sweetness with the hops still being the first to show up and they impart the same aspects that they did in the aroma with a little more green hops coming through than it did in the aroma. Up next comes a little bit of doughy yeast followed by the malts which impart all the same aspects that they did in the aroma and this time they stick out just a little more. On the finish comes the lactose impart a slight sweet creamy flavors followed by a medium amount of bitterness with a hoppy and creamy aftertaste. This is a pretty nice tasting beer, just like the aroma it lives up to it's description.
M- Fairly smooth, crisp, a little creamy, on the lighter side of being medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice and it works well with this beer.
Overall I thought this was a pretty nice beer and a nice example of the style, I wasn't sure that lactose could work with a session IPA, but Oddsides proved that the two can go together and that more for a pretty unique beer. This beer had nice drinkability, I could drink a couple, but it might start to wear on me after that. What I like the most about this beer is the way the lactose and the session IPA base worked together, it was nice and unique. What I liked the least about this beer was nothing, there wasn't anything that stood out as not being good. I would buy this beer again when I want a unique and creamy Session IPA and I would recommend it to anyone looking for the same. All in all I was happy with this beer, I wasn't sure how this would turn out, but Oddsides ended up coming through with one tasty and unique beer. IT's not a favorite Oddsides beer, but it pretty good for a unique example of the style. Nice job guys, this is a memorable beer, keep it up.
