A: A bright yellow in color, hazy with white head.

S: Tropical notes with grapefruit, and orange peel. Perhaps some melon, or maybe stone fruit.

T: Flavor follows with tropical fruit, and citrus. Bitterness is a little assertive for the style, but I think that might be a bit refreshing.

M: Medium feel, with a nice amount of creaminess

O: Overall a pretty good brew. simple, unassuming, and tasty.

Mouth feel was crisp with sprtizes of citrus and pine and dry finish. I really liked this brew crushable with nice citra hops. Will buy another sixer.

Refreshing, crisp IPA sampled on tap at Odd Side Ales. Truly as dank as its name. Nice hazy yellow-orange color with some fluffy white head and spotty lingering lacing. Smells of citrus zest hops - orange, lemon, mango, guava, grapefruit - as well as some malt, caramel and floral hops. Lots of grassy hops, dank and a little piney. Taste follows the nose, well balanced, good malt backbone sweetness along with the hoppy, dank bitter bite at the end. Smooth, mild mouthfeel, just the right amount of carbonation. Truly a good, deep, dank IPA.

The CANQuest (tm) is rolling along at high speed & now, having been duly CANspired by @Jimmy_Kneecaps I am taking a walk on the Odd Side, next to Lou Reed.

From the CAN: "India Pale Ale with Citra Hops".

Are they zoomin' me?!? An all-Citra hopped AIPA?!? Be still, my thumping heart! I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug, but to no avail. Clarity was clearly an afterthought & not even much of one. I then let it roll out of the CAN as it saw fit, forming just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with great retention, leaving loads of lacing in its wake. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose sent me into overdrive! Citrus hops, unadorned & in all their glory! 8=O I thought that such single-hops type beers were banned in the tropical age! Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, almost creamy & plenty slick. Taste was … to paraphrase the Bible - "Woody wept."

I have adored Citra hops ever since I got turned onto the 5 Cs (Citra, Columbus, Cascade, Chinook & Centennial) & later, the 7 Cs (Citra, Columbus, Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, Cluster & Crystal), but the Southern Hemisphere hops supplanted them as the new big thing! 8=(

This was Back to the Future action, hopefully portending a return to bittering hops & NOT tropical fruitiness that makes me jones & itch like I've got hives. Man, I wanna mainline this bad boy & flyyyy! My tongue was trying to French-kiss the hops as soon as they hit the landing pad of my palate & my nose thought that I was burning hops incense. Mmm. I gotta do this more often! I was left curious as to the malt bill. S.M.A.S.H.? If not, then it was again a malt bill designed to make fermentable sugars & dive for cover as the yeast did its work & to get outta the way of the hops!

Fackin' MichiCAN is killin' it today! Come in, @Another6Pack !

Finish was dry, citrusy-bitter & JUST the thing to take the edge off of my jones. Phew! It was all beginning to have a CANmulative effect, but how CAN I stop now?!? YMMV.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Slightly hazed light golden pour with thick fluffy white head. Great lacing.

S: Citrus and pine... somewhat dank. Juicy.

T.F: Light grain bill... semi-sweet up front with citrus and juice. Lighter pine and herb. Sticky on the tongue... more citrus and tropicals at the finish.

O: A solid NEIPA. Good flavor and crushable.

The hazy golden amber colored beer pours out into a Duvel glass with a 1” fluffy white head that recedes slowly to a short cap and eventually to a thin irregular island of foam while leaving a ring and some patches and a web of lacing that stick to the sides of the glass. Sipping creates two slender arches and some scattered small patches and legs of lacing.

The aromas are filled with citrus and tropical fruits such as mango, melon and some others. There also seems to be some golden orchard fruit along with some light citric zest and a bit of resin.

The flavors are similar to what is expected from the nose with the citrus and tropical fruits backed up by some peach, etc., but the grapefruit zest and light resin are more forward than anticipated. The bready sweetness from the malt backbone remains mostly in the background but is still noticeable as background to the solid bitterness that is well controlled and does not rasp.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and seems both smooth and lightly crisp at the same time from the light to moderate carbonation. The finish begins as the fruit flavors and the light sweetness start to fade to a semi-dry ending that is both lightly fruity and slightly bitter at the same time.

Overall I’ve found this to be both drinkable and enjoyable and I’d be happy to have another. There’s lots of complexity and hop presence in the fruits, the zest and the resin and the bitterness is not at all unpleasant. This beer encourages me to look to see if I can find any other beers from the brewery.

12 FL OZ can
Served in a Michigan Wolverines pint glass

This beer pours kind of like pineapple juice. It is light in color with a solid inch of off white head that leaves some nice lacing.

The smell is tropical fruit. I also get some peach and apricot aroma.

The taste has more bite than the smell. I get some sharp citrus with a little dank, vegetable flavor. The finish is grapefruit and pine with no lingering bitterness.

Medium mouthfeel

I like this beer. It may not be an elite NEIPA, but I am a fan of Odd Side and would drink this anytime.

Canned on 10/25/17. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy and cloudy burnt yellow; big fluffy eggshell white head that slowly falls leaving great thick retention and sticky frothy lacing. The aromas have a subtle blend of tropical and citrus notes. Some pineapple and coconut in the mix. Malts are there. The flavors are clean, crisp and juicy. More pineapple and coconut. I'm not getting much orange. Some fresh grass. Moderate bitterness. A touch of sweetness. Malts are there. Finishes juicy. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's very fluffy, smooth and refreshing.

This is a pretty solid IPA. It drinks more on the tropical side than on the citrus side. I don't feel like the citra hops shine, but it still has a solid hop profile. It's enjoyable stuff.
