Deep, dark, viscous liquid with mahogany edges and an initial cola-esque head of fizzy mocha bubbles.

Massive raisin, cherry, fig, and berry on the nose, smothered in dark chocolate, with red wine tannins and some lovely oak notes. Missing some barrel character that could take it over the top.

Taste follows but is even more tutored towards dark fruits and dark chocolate. Sweet up front, then a little toasty and bitter, and surprisingly dry (given the start) at the end. Maybe even a little buttery.

Medium-bodied for a stout of this size, not sticky but plenty coating and velvety. Zero carbonation.

My god, possibly the most dark fruit and raisin-heavy beer I've ever had. Pretty remarkable that there are no adjuncts in there -- just base stout and barrel-aging. One sip I'm overwhelmed by the chocolate-covered fruits and sweetness, the next I'm absolutely digging it. A very fun one to sip on slowly on a quiet night.

Appearance: Utter black in color, with a small and coarse tan head, which, while not abundant, manages to retain fairly well. Very fine-beaded lacing, resembling grains of sand adorns the glass wall in a slightly irregular, though unbroken ring. Even before a very strong light, there are only hints of deep amber highlights at the bottom of the glass.

Aroma: An intense note of dark chocolate, sweet cocoa, vanilla nuts, and wood. There is also sweet and spicy alcohol, which would seem inevitable at an ABV of 14.6 percent. Surprisingly, the bourbon presence, seems almost understated. While present, it is not "over the top", as is often seen with bourbon barrel-aged examples.

Taste: Opens with a strong wave of bittersweet chocolate, espresso and cocoa, soon followed by sweet and spicy alcohol. An undercurrent of wood lurks throughout. A little later in the taste, the bourbon presents, much more assertive than it was in the aroma. Late in the taste, bitter chocolate, bourbon, and wood vie for dominance. The wood notes linger on well past the close.

Mouth feel: Smooth, very full and soft, with a mere suggestion of carbonation. It could be perhaps a touch fuller.

Drinkabilty/notes: Outstanding, a true sipper for a cold and dark autumn day. Very well made, high ABV examples of this style can often be a train wreck of flavors, but Deleterious is incredibly well balanced. Would pair exceptionally well with rich chocolate desserts, or as a standalone dessert.

Presentation: Packaged in a twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a la Fin du Monde Chalice.

Look- jet black, tiniest lace of bubbles around the edge of the glass. Smell- raisins, strong molasses, cocoa, and vanilla. Taste- Very sweet backed up by strong oak notes and dark malt. A little bit of coffee comes through to balance out the sweetness. Feel is medium, not super thick, not as thin as it looks. I'd like a little more carbonation but that is really common in barrel aged stouts. Overall a great beer. If I was being honest its flavor profile has a lot in common with most of the BCBS releases. I gave it an overall 4.25 but if taste is what matters I'd give it a little higher. Definitely buy again.

12 ounce single from Siciliano’s in Grand Rapids from Nov 2019 trip when borders could still be crossed.
Pours deep black with scant light brown head.
Aroma of chocolate, fudge, vanilla, mild espresso note and certainly a bit of booziness.
Tastes of rich dark chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit, vanilla, and smooth bourbon. Earthy bittersweetness.
Medium full mouthfeel with moderate carbonation - chocolate bourbon sweetness with a warming booziness.
Simple and spectacular.

Very good beer. It balances sweetness with a detectable earthy hoppyness. Tons of raisens and plum. More tobacco than maybe any other beer I've had. There's something green and vegetable like that is off putting. The alcohol is very prominent and pulls no punches.

Feel is thick and creamy.

Overall reading the reviews I thought this was going to be one of my favorite beers. It's good, but its not something I care to seek out again. I'm a no adjunct BA stout junkie but this doesn't compare to BA expo, bcbs, appervatation, black magicks, or zangiefs.

Thanks to superspak for this gem, received in NBS BIF #10.
Holy shit, she's beautiful. About the darkest color of brown you can behold, literally a shade lighter than black. And capped by the most alluring dark mocha foam, dense and firm. Solid retention. Clumpy lacing.
The nose abounds with deep cocoa notes akin to brownie batter, charred caramel, mild roast, and smooth bourbon barrel hints.
The taste is much of the same from the nose. But it goes deeper. The bourbon hints are melded well into this beauty. They are a constant contributor, but smooth never hot. And this is not a sugar bomb. It is sweeter than what I think of as a more traditional Russian Impy but it retains some of the earthy, almost peaty, notes that many of the newer BA Impy stouts lack. A true beauty.
Mouthfeel is chewy, slight carbonation, and a mild bitterness that dries out the end a bit.
Overall, more please.

12oz bottle dated Oct 10 2019. Poured into a tulip glass. Purchased at ML Spirits.

Pour: jet black, thin tan head that leaves a thin ring and a few clouds. Some bubble lacing.

Nose: molasses/sweet malt, dark fruit, chocolate, hint of vanilla.

Taste: sweet/dark malts, marshmallow, vanilla, dark chocolate cake. Wow, super good.

Mouthfeel: viscous but not cloying. Moderate carbonation. Definition of milkshake feel.

Overall: this is absolutely awesome. The only way to improve would be more head and lacing but that’s quibbling. Definitely worth trying if you are lucky enough to see it.

One helluva bourbon stout.
Thick, chewy, easy on the eyes. Whiskey is a bit strong. Almost has a sting to it. Finishes nice and sticky .

12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 9/4/2018. Pours dense opaque dark brown/black color with a small fairly dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Nice spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, nuts, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, prune, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, and yeast/roast/oaky earthiness. Some barrel booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/black/bready malt, bourbon barrels, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, nuts, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, prune, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, and yeast/roast/oaky earthiness. Light herbal/roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, nuts, dark/brown bread, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, and yeast/roast/oaky earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/black/bready malt, bourbon barrels, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with an awesome roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with no cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering char bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mildly increasing warmth of 13%, with minimal barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an amazing barrel aged imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/black/bready malt, bourbon barrels, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the mellowly bitter/chared/tannic/drying finish. Insanely rich malt complexity, with amazing barrel presence/integration. Not overly boozy/tannic on barrels. Definitely their thickest stout yet, but the tannic barrels and charred malts keep the sweetness in check. A highly enjoyable offering and amazing style example as expected.

Appearance - Pours jet black with a thick tan head that settles to a rocky cap and thick ring. Random sheets of lacing around the glass.

Aroma - Big chocolate aroma, marshmallow, roasted malts, oak, bourbon, vanilla beans, really sweet and rich decadent. This almost reminds me of a liquid fudge brownie.

Taste - Wow really rich dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla beans, roasted malts, almost tastes like rocky road ice creme. Mild oak, great bourbon flavor that works well and does not overpower the other flavors. The taste is just layered and super complex.

Feel - Full bodied smooth, great warming from the alcohol really creamy with a touch of dryness on the finish.

Overall - Amazing is all I can say, excellent flavors spot on mouthfeel other than the heat no sign of the 13% at all. Very dangerous and easy drinking.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tulip. Thanks Kevin.

Pours a deep brown body with a small off white head that reduces to leave nice lacing.

Aromas are rich and inviting, I’d almost swear there is vanilla in this beer, rich vanilla beans and milk chocolate and a touch of bourbon on the nose.

On the tongue this is equally as amazing. Rich milk chocolate, fudge brownies, brownie batter, leather, vanilla, a touch of bourbon on the finish with roasts aftertaste.

Mouthfeel makes this beer a real winner. It’s so rich and thick without being cloying. Coats the tongue.

This beer is awesome. Every aspect of it is world class, and I can’t beleive it’s 13%.

Smell: Marshmallow, vanilla, fudge, dark chocolate, espresso, tobacco, leather, dry oak, butterscotch, molasses, caramel, light dried dark fruits, sweet decadent Bourbon. The beer smells fantastic. The barrel presence is extremely smooth and complex. I can’t wait to taste this.

Taste: The flavor of this beer mirrors the nose in every way. Loads of rich marshmallow, vanilla, fudge, dark chocolate, espresso, carmel, maple syrup, candied molasses, tobacco, leather, dark fruits, light roasted malts. The bourbon hits the tongue mid palette and is smooth with a nice chest warming effect. The oak and deep wood notes add depth and complexity to the finish. The beer is beautiful on the palette with an amazing blend of rich sweet notes and a barrel presence that is executed exquisitely.

Feel: Medium body a touch on the thin side for a beer that is 13%. Although the beer is so smooth and velvety on the tongue that the thinnish feel doesn’t matter so much. It makes this big beer feel more approachable.

Overall: This is the best beer odd side makes. No Adjuncts in this beer just a barrel. It is so impressive the amount of complexity this has. If you like bourbon barrel aged beers then trade for this. It trades super low and it’s just as good as beers that trade for crazy amounts. This is undoubtedly a 5/5. Amazing job Odd Side!
