12oz bottle, packaged on 11.05.2019, brewed in collaboration with Binnys, poured into a stemless wine glass.

The beer pours a deep jet black color, thick and oily with a nice khaki head that has modest retention and spotted lacing grips the glass. The aroma is very sweet, lots of chocolate and vanilla, nutty pecan really shines as it warms and plays well with the charred oak, bourbon spirit and toasted coconut while there is a warm and sweet creaminess that lingers. The flavors are good, nice chocolate, smooth barrel with a vanilla creaminess, marshmallow at times, very sweet that gets sweeter and sweeter as it warms, nice barrel heat, earthy and nutty pecan which brings out some depth to this and really helps cut through the sweetness while hearty grains linger. The mouthfeel is good, coating and creamy, smooth and luscious heavy body that finishes with a warm boozy bite.

Verdict: A nice pastry style stout from Odd Side Ales. I've really enjoyed a number of their adjunct forward beers and while this one is nice, the barrel gets a lost a bit. The sweetness does become somewhat overwhelming when cold but as it warms, the pecan starts to shine and offers a much needed balance.

It's good, it's tasty, it is what it says it's going to be. It's good, not great, not excellent. I tried it fresh (within a week of purchase)

It's worth trying, don't pay mega bucks for it though, it's like a BCS Prop 19' light (imo)

Don't expect it to be the best out there, but it is a tasty treat!

12 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 11/5/19, had 4/28/20.

Pours a dark cola color, semi opaque, with a one and a half inch foamy head and a decent amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, tobacco, a nutty aroma, some caramel, some oak, malt, light char, light chocolate. The flavors are more defined- bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, pecans, oak, caramel, malt, tobacco, light char. Smooth, a very good medium to full body, well carbonated.

Not exactly a traditional Imperial Stout, but this is pretty good. The pecans show well, excellent barrels, just really well done. Very enjoyable.

Charcoal black with a finger of tan foam. Barrel and bourbon booze especially is very faint in nose, more focused on cocoa and the vanilla and pecan combo, like a praline. Taste is pretty similar, though bourbon booze comes in a bit at the front of the sip. Feel is thinner, sweet, and surprisingly dry.

Pours black with a finger of khaki-tan foam. Head retention is okay. Aroma is vanilla, caramel, cocoa, toffee, pecan with bright and boozy bourbon. It smells hot - red hot. Malts are roasty and toasty. Flavor profile is roasty and toasty malts with pecan, toffee, caramel, molasses, cocoa, chocolate and vanilla bean. It finishes off with a big boozy hit of bourbon that hits more like a hand sanitizer than a balanced bourbon. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with still, lightly grainy texture that has an initial sharpness. Overall, booze is too hot, but the sugary notes are good.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 12oz bottle.

This iteration brewed in collaboration with Binny's.

Black appearance.

A rough pour yielded a nice tan head; strong, frothy lace.

Cream, dark chocolate, mild bourbon & mile oak notes in the nose.

Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.

STRONG bourbon heat, oak, mild cream & faint dark chocolate flavors.

This smelled better than it tasted; way to boozy on the palate.
