This is a beast of a beer! Pours a very dark black with a brownish/orange hue. There was a minimal copper colored head that dissipated quickly. Great aroma. Flavors of chocolate, caramel, oak, bourbon, marshmallow, coffee & burnt sugars. Very smooth. You can tell that it is alcohol heavy but is not harsh. Pretty much a meal in a glass.

 

Pours jet black into a snifter,a thin deep mocha colored head atop.Big buttery oak notes in the nose mixed with bitter chocolate,and coffee,a pretty aggressive nose.The bourbon is more aggressive on the palate,vanilla tinged bourbon and more bitter chocolate up front followed by earthiness in the finish.As it warms the booze gets bigger and bigger as well as the bourbon flavor profile,it's a sipper but damn good.

12oz can poured into Founders chalice.

Pour: jet black, minimal head, a little bubble lacing. Thin ring. Nothing special. 3.0

Nose: bourbon, oak, caramel, stone fruit. Huge, balanced, really nice. 4.0

Taste: huge oak and bourbon, caramel, chocolate, stone fruit, marshmallow/vanilla. Sweet up front, fair amount of charred/Smokey bitterness on backend. 3.5

Feel: thick but not cloying. Moderate carbonation. Smooth, easy drinking despite the alcohol burn. 3.75

Overall: like but don’t love this. It’s really in your face with the alcohol and oak. First few sips were really good but it wore on me. Not bad but just seems overdone. Probably won’t seek it out again. 3.5

 

Pours a dark brown color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma is chocolate, caramel and roasted malts. Tastes of sweet vanilla, caramel and alcohol. Nice alcohol burn. Smooth and creamy.
