Gold in color with a faint amount of haziness. There's an inch of tightly knit, creamy to off white to beige head. The aroma is off fresh and pungent citrus hops. I'm initially tasting citrus hops and then an immediate barrage of light malt. The mouth is moderately sticky and otherwise light.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 oz can on May 14, 2017. Look is honey amber with a thick off-white head and some lingering lacing. Smell and taste is juicy tropical fruit and dry malt. Feel is medium in body.

12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a burnt golden with a subtle haze; fluffy white head that slowly falls leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are fine, but they're pretty mild and subtle. It actually has more of a tropical vibe than a citrus vibe. Hints of coconut and pineapple. Tons of fresh grass. Malts do their thing. The flavors are very clean, crisp and refreshing. More hints of coconut and pineapple. Some subtle hints of grapefruit. More fresh grass along with some mild hints of pine. Clean, crisp and sharp bitterness. Malts do their thing, but aren't overpowering at all. Finishes dry for the most part. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is really nice. It's light with sharp active carbonation. It's slightly fluffy and very smooth.

This is a good pale ale. You would think the citra hops would make this a flashy brew, but they really don't. This is a traditional pale ale and doesn't come off as an IPA disguised as a pale ale. It's very clean, crisp and refreshing. The craftsmanship is on point. It's probably even better than my "numerical score" might indicate.

Classic amber with a moderate white head that settles to thick collar leaving a solid coral-like lace.

Smell is biscuit, grapefruit, orange, caramel and rug.

Taste is orange, grapefruit, Smarties, astringent pine, biscuit, rug and cat.

Sort of a classic West Coast, a moderate body, not too bitter, and dry.

Delicious! Whatever this is, it works on all levels. I bet the can is the perfect vehicle for this brew - the one I got sure worked well

It's a nice, foamy yellow that stays foamy. The aroma is a pretty, citra smell with a little bit of malty taste showing through. It's a nice balance.

This ale and its brewer, Odd Side, are new to the area (I think). I highly recommend this one.

Sweet. Somewhat citrusy. Had this after trying their "Beautiful Disaster," which is essentially the same thing, but aged in red wine barrels. Beautiful Disaster was better.

Canned 2/16/16; drank 3/11/16 @ the Yarchives.

Poured from the can into a glass.

Semi-opaque orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big bright white head; strong, frothy tree-rung lace.

Pineapple, faint skunk spray & caramel notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Dry pine flavor up front; bitter, dry grapefruit notes on the finish. Drinkable but certainly not enjoyable; what have they done to my favorite hop?!

Dark caramel color almost like sweet Texas tea. Citra hop is heavy in the air once poured. No head, period. Sadly, the flavor does not carry the smell of the hops. Food beer, but flavor was a little of a let down.

Pours the color and opacity of dark honey, with a tall, soapy head of 3 fingers. Tons of lace left behind where it once was...just skirted and beautiful.

Aromas of cracker and biscuit, followed by plantain, papaya, guava, and mango. Citrus notes are faint but in the background as valencia orange and mandarin orange.

Wow. Starts off with aggressive (read : intense) pine and citrus peel, but fades to a muted bread tone, with bananas and banana creme pie. Pine stays with the profile throughout.

Flavor is sticky and resiny, with moderate carbonation and an oily finish. Lots of hop resins resting on the palate.

Overall, Citra Pale Ale was a pretty decent session ale. Only thing I'd change is less pine, more fruit to blend in with that pleasant banana flavor that rushes in. Still not bad and I'm sure it'd kill on a hot summer day.
