On tap at Old Chicago. Pours a nearly black, deep brown color with some light breaking through the outer edges and surfaces. Khaki head is a bit frothy and settles pretty quickly to a quarter inch that lasted for a while.

An aroma filled with cocoa and sweet, sweet milk chocolate jumps out at my nose. Peanut butter notes abound; this thing smells like I would imagine a liquid Reese's Cup smelling, only with a little more of a roasted malt character. This truly smells more promising than I would have imagined.

I was skeptical as to how this would taste, but upon taking one sip - I was sold. The roasted, chocolate malts are definitely the strongest character here, providing a nice base upon which the beer stands. Lots of roastiness, some sweetness, and a touch of char. The peanut butter flavor peaks it's head through the malt bill in swatches here and there, but it's definitely apparent with each and every sip.

As I'm sure many people were, I was afraid the peanut butter would be overly sweet and cloying, or too powerful to appreciate, but I'll be damned if they didn't get the amount spot on. Nuttiness all around with just a touch of ashy and bittersweet florals on the end notes, with the lasting tastes of roasted Reese's Cup to last you til the next sip. Creamy mouth, good amount of carbonation.

This was only the second beer I've tried from Odd Side Ales (after the Pineapple IPA), and I've been pretty impressed with both. Peanut Butter Cups in beer can be a slippery slope - walking that fine line between too sweet and just right. This stout integrated the peanut butter flavors very well, though. Bravo, Odd Side. Bravo.

Pours pitch black with a wispy off-white head. Aroma is dominant with peanut butter, almost an overpoweringly sweetness. The peanut butter isn't as present in on the first sip but there are notes of dark fruit, cocoa, roasted malt, and brown sugar. The hops help balance out the sweetness a bit. As it warms the peanut butter is a bit more present but the extremely aqueous mouthfeel makes it much less pleasant than the nose would indicate. Overall an ok stout, just a bit thin for my liking and underwhelming for a pb fan.

Served in a 5oz taster glass at Odd Side Ales 7/9/11.

A: Served a dark cola brown with a creamy dark khaki head. Retention was really good with at least a 1/4 finger lasting 'till the end of the glass. Lace was on the minor side but webby.

S: Right out of the tap, this smelled like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. No doubt about it, this beer was dry PBCupped. Dark roasted malt, chocolate, peanut butter, and a bit of campfire smoke.

T: Exactly as above. Lots of sweet and savory flavors.

M: Slick and sweet in the beginning. Gains a drier, bitter edge as the glass empties. Sticky.

O: Very enjoyable! Could've been a trainwreck...but it wasn't. Wish the peanuts would've had more of a roasted flavor.

On nitro-tap at Odd Side this past weekend. Served in a pint glass.

Pours medium brown with a good light tan head that persists throughout. Good lacing as well.

Nose carries quite a bit of creamy peanut butter, though that's no much for what's coming in the flavor department. Huge notes of peanut butter. Super creamy with a nice nuttiness in the background. Semi-sweet with a touch of toffee as well.

Great body. Really chewy and creamy. Peanut butter to the max.
