Pours a light golden color, mildly hazy. Small to medium white head. Not terribly sticky, fades away pretty quick. The aroma is honey-ish pale malt, very simple. Some apple cider, white grape juice and a little peach-iness. Mild herbal note in the background. The malt is sorta doughy but more just sweet fresh grain. Not a lot going on, really. The taste is sweet with a simple, mild malt flavor. You can taste the fruitiness of the malt well, but it's still mild enough that even the small amount of hops comes through with a touch of grassiness. Mouthfeel is light with unremarkable carbonation. This is the second beer in the Cismontane Single Malt series that I've tried, and it's a bit simpler and drabber than the Munich, which isn't a surprise. Still, it's fun to try these beers, but the experience would be enhanced by trying them all together.

Pale golden in the tall Peroni glass. Nice bubbles and plenty of suds in the mouth. Decent, coarse white head. Aroma of instant oatmeal with the creme flavor, but rather appealing.

Cereal taste, rather sweet. A modest woody and herbal hop note at the finish. Very grainy in a nice way, with a touch of lemon. This lacks the crispness you might want in a light beer. Mellow malty notes with a crackery taste. Quite drinkable with more than a hint of tanginess. A well-made brew that is off-center, but maybe that's the point.

It's hard to rate these single malt brews-- it would be more interesting to taste them all together, now that I read the website. These are supposed to all be just 16 IBU so as to taste the grain. From the 500 ml bottle purchased for $4.59 at Bine & Vine in San Diego.

Pours a cloudy golden hue without much of a head. Smells of a slightly nutty sweet toffee with some nice biscuit malts and cookie notes. Taste is much the same and doesn't have much hop bitterness but some slight fresh hop notes that are subdued enough to really compliment the malts. There's a great bread like sweetness that brings everything together. Mouthfeel is actually pretty nice, light, medium amount of carbonation and overall doesn't detract or add a whole lot to the beer. Overall, this is a definite try if your a fan of the style. I would recommend this one to any of my friends who have a fondness for kolsch's, pilsners, or lagers in general. Personally, I would get this if I found it on tap and wanted something a little bit easy on the abv but also flavorful.

From the Cismontane single malt series using all vienna malt from Best Malz, sampled alongside the pilsner and dark munich variants.

Pours a cloudy gold with crackling carbonation, the small white head it forms quickly fades to nothing. Not even a dot of lacing left on the glass, looks like juice after 5 minutes.

Sweet bread , cereal grains and quite fruity, white grape juice and apple cider, not overly sweet but the fruitiness does a good job masking any husky grains. Not much of a hop presence, a bit of grass and herbal tones to keep it balanced.

Not unlike drinking cereal or oatmeal with dried fruit in it, the cereal grains are very prominent and matched by the red fruit presence, freeze dried strawberries, apple skins and flecks of sweet white grape juice. Balancing hops are herbal and earthy.

Like the pilsner this beer is flat on its feet, a heavy beer with average carbonation. Alcohol also a non factor. This beer does dry nicely making it easier to put down than the pilsner.

Special K in a glass, not quite what I was expecting but the red fruit elements I was getting from this beer were intriguing. Easiest to put down in the single malt series but still weighted down.
