Poured from a 12 oz can into glass mug. Nice colour, looks very dark brown with a dark tan head. Smells very much of chocolate and coffee. Taste is very chocolaty with a nice hint of peanut butter. Heavy mouthfeel like most stouts but still goes down easy. Reminded me of liquid peanut butter cup. Prost!

12oz can into tulip glass.

A: Dark black body with ruby showing at the stem of the glass; huge brown head recedes to a consistent ring.

S: Fairly big aromas of chocolate, vanilla, roast and hazelnut...does smell roasty, nutty, and semi-sweet.

T: Taste follows the nose with dry nutty peanuts and hazelnuts, roasted malts, medium sweet chocolate, vanilla, faint caramel and fruitiness. Dry finish leans more towards peanut butter than hazelnut, pretty dry.

MF: Creamy and fairly smooth. Could be fuller bodied, this is about medium bodied I would say. Dry finish is a bit fatiguing by the end.

O: Nice execution, fairly drinkable peanut butter stout. Nice chocolate, nutty, vanilla components. A good beer to share.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet dark malt with light toast, vanilla, chocolate and peanut butter, nice. Flavor is dark toasted malt with a light char, and the same vanilla, chocolate and peanut butter from the aroma; both a lot like a peanut butter cup. Finishes a little on the thin side, but with nice light chocolate peanut butter and chocolate and a bit of char that lingers. Medium bodied with good carbonation, a bit lighter than I expected from the look. A nicely made peanut butter imperial stout. The peanut flavor is not strong, but melds with the chocolatey malt flavors well. A little sweet, but well within reason and well balanced. The body is a hair light, but the flavors are so well integrated that this is a satisfying stout from start to finish.
