Growler fill at Froogal MacDoogal Nashville.

A: Pours clear, cherry red. Thick, two-finger off-white head. Nice lacing and retention.

S: Grassy, earthy hops. Some toasted malt, sweet fruity cherry, and whiffs of spicy pepper.

T: Hoppy goodness yet well balanced with creamy malts and a backbone of just the right amount of dry, peppery rye flavor.

M: Medium bodied, slick, and creamy. Dry, coating that lingers along with that pleasant aftertaste.

O: So glad these guys have made it to Nashville. This beer is well-balanced, flavorful, and very sessionable. Look forward to many more beers from northern AL!

Poured from 12 oz can dated 3/18/2016 into snifter.

A: Rich copper red with 2 finger white head. Decent retention and lacing.

S: Grassy hops and rye bread combined with lemon and orange zest.

T: Cracker malts, rye bread, and light citrus with an almost grassy tone to it. A little cracked pepper in the back.

M: Medium body with fairly high carbonation. Finish is a touch spicy but very refreshing.

O: Very nice rye pale that is now available in cans for the first time. It will be a nice treat being able to find this regularly.

This was a nice surprise. Nice head on top of a reddish colored ale. Very pretty. Not as much nose as I'd like, but everything else was top notch. Very drinkable ale. It's a little hoppy and there's the rye, of course, and something else... maybe just a hint of pepper. Will buy this again.

Growler to Speigleau small tulip

Alabama state tick done!
Thanks to BA BrandonBrew for this one

App- A deeper copper with A big tan 3 finger head. A ton of cling. Inside the glass it poured out with a great density with a orange hue in the center. A bit of yellow around the edges. I said it once but ill say it again. A great cling and sticky lace.

Smell- A great deal of Rye spice in there with a big citrus zest. More of a triangle of lemon, orange, grapefruit zest. Hard to pick one. The hops are there and also balanced by a forest wood dry grass type of aroma. The back end is a bit sweet with a touch of caramel.

Taste- I thought that this was a very tasty beer. It has a big rye flavor but semi balanced with a grassy herbal flavor. The flavor has a bit of a soap bubble flavor with a caramel malt flavor. On the 1st glass was better than the 3rd. Its pretty good but the beer needs to remain colder for me.

Mouth- A lighter medium body with maybe a touch of caramel creaminess behind it. Then it was paired with a medium carbonation. Couldve been a bit less thick to make a bit more crisp for an APA. Medium rye flavor. Residual zest and grass.

Taste- It's good. Rye and hops came to party. I think a few tweaks and I woulda went bat shit for this one. Tastier when a bit colder IMO. Keep that in mind.
