Poured into a pilsner glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a good pace. Some rings of clingy lace. The aroma starts off with a sweet dark fruity blissful malty milk chocolatey goodness. Light dark chocolate, moderate bready sweetness. Sly rugged roastiness. The flavor yields to the sweet bready side first but then opens up into a great balance. Rich bready and roasty aftertaste flowing into the finish very nicely. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about it. Smooth bready lager lingering yet rugged but low key enough to flow nicely over my tongue. Overall, as a black lager this was exceptionally well done to have as much going on as it did.

Had it as a 16oz draft poured looked like I was in a treat for a Bavarian Black Lager. Not exactly but as close as it gets. The malt chocolate and caramel blend had a solid taste as well as a hint of hip peeking through. I drank 3 nights straight and enjoyed. My lower number "feel" comes from an overpour one night and the glass felt like a milk shake sticky.

A: Pours black with a light brown head, reminiscent of cola.
S: Malty and smoky.
T: Follows the nose. Tastes more like a smoked porter than a lager.
M: Robust and hearty, much like a porter.
O: This doesn't quite seem like it fits the style, but I really enjoy it and think it's a great beer.

Appearance: It pours a dark brown with about one finger worth of head that thins out quick.

Aroma: Figs, molasses, faint plum, raisins, dates. A little bit of brown bread in the tail end.

Taste: Very crisp to start. Quite sweet, molasses, brown bread, figs, ripe banana, raisins.

Notes: Top to bottom this one is solid very drinkable. Cheers.
