I went to Remy's last Friday night before going to the House of Blues to go to the Black Crowes show. This place worked as a great pre-game spot before an awesome night of live music. Remy's is located behind Fenway Park on Boylston.

Atmosphere is pretty sweet, a huge area with tons of tables and booths. Simply amazing spread of high def TV's all over the place (3 in the bathroom too!) so you don't miss any of the game. I noticed they have the NFL Sunday Ticket, which is cool. Too bad I live so far from Kenmore.

Draft selection offers about 20 selections with highlights like DFH 60 Minute IPA, Harpoon 100 Barrel Series & IPA, Bear Republic Racer 5, Cisco Goose Island Honker's Ale, Rapscallion Honey Ale, Mayflower Golden Ale, Washusett Green Monsta Ale and Delerium Tremens. I enjoyed having the option of 16 or 23 oz drafts. Prices are anywhere from $4.75 to $10.75 (for a 20 oz of Bear Republic).

At least 35 different types of bottles as well. Highlights included Avery White Rascal, Pretty Things Jack D'Or, Stone Arrogant Bastard and the ever lovely St Bernadus Abt 12 ($9.50). Assorted selection of cocktails, liquors and wines. I had only had an appetizer, so I'm not gonna review the food, but everything tasted and looked good.

A solid and new sports bar with a really good beer selection. Definitely worth checking out in the area. This place has quickly become my #2 in the Kenmore Sq/Fenway area.

Stopped by here last night before the Sox game. At 5:00, the inside was packed. Very cool looking interior. Plenty of huge tvs, everything is brand new obviously. The back wall made of glass facing Fenway was a smart idea. It was too long of a wait for a table inside, so we sat outside. There are probably 30 tables right on Boylston Street. Service was good. Even though it was packed, we never felt we waited too long for anything. My order of buffalo wings tasted great, a dozen for $9. Beer selection is also very good for the Fenway area. Taps included: Bear Republic, DFH, Rogue, Goose Island, Victory, Rapscallion, Wachusett, Delerium Tremens, and Weihenstephaner, plus the usual Harpoons and Sam Adams etc. Beer is served in 16 or 23 oz glasses. I did think the beer prices were on the high side. Sixteen ounce pints start at $5.75 and work their way up to $10. Most average $7-8. Four beers and one wing app came to $40 including tip. I would most likely return here for a beer before a game, since it offers a great atmosphere, and good food and beer selection.

If a place like this can offer a good selection of craft beers, there might be hope for a lot of other bars in Boston to start improving their beer offerings.

Jerry Remy's is the brand new sports bar right near Fenway housed in the building where WBCN used to be. It looks completely different from when it was BCN as they have done a lot of work to gut this place, clean it up and really open it up to the outside. Giant floor to ceiling glass windows in the front and the back has an open air deal where they appear to be able to just lift some window so you can see right outside to the backside of Fenway where the retired #'s are displayed near the player's parking lot. Lots of dark finished hardwoods decor-wise and a pretty big bar located to the left when you enter.

The beer selection here is quite good especially for a sports bar. They had Bear Rupublic Racer 5, Delirium Tremens, Wachuset, Dogfish Head, Sierra, Anchor, Allagash, the usual Sam Adams, Harpoon, Guinness type offerings but there were also a few more craft beers on tap that I dont remember. I opted for a Racer 5 and it tasted fresh and everything. The bartenders were attentive and friendly enough.

The food seemed to lean towards a BBQ theme which is fine with me and everything looked and smelled pretty decent but we didnt get any food. The prices are on the steep side for drinks but the food prices looked about average. This place is kind of the new hot spot around Fenway for pre and post game so it can get absolutely packed in here as was starting to become the case as we were getting ready to leave.

Overall, I gotta say I wasnt expecting much from this place thinking it would just rely on its name recognition to do well but that isnt the case. Its a great addition to the Fenway neighborhood.
